Re: 2011-2013 Foglight upgrade Option

I bought the harness adapters from Top Line as posted by Raptor in post #127 in this thread. I've attached (crappy) pictures of the factory fog light harness on the Jeep, as well as the connector on the harness. The harness I ordered from Top Line fits fine. I think DaBitz might have received the wrong harness from Top Line.

I've been looking/thinking about a way to do LED headlights on the GC.

Here's what I've come up with:
Buy aftermarket (TYC) set of halogen headlights because they are easier to 'heat 'n open' than the OEM headlights, and yet I've read that they appear to be just as good as OEM.

JW Speaker makes a 90mm LED low beam (and matching high beam, but I don't care about that).

Take apart the TYC headlight, mount in the JW Speaker 90mm LED low beam just like people have done with the HID projectors.

Glue back together and plug it in.

However, I don't think the wife will let me spend approximately $1000 on headlights.....

Re: 2011-2013 Foglight upgrade Option

No way can I spend that much on headlights. At least...not now.

I saw that you can get LED headlight bulb/ballast kits for around $150 or so. Certainly not JW Speaker quality...

H11 H8 H9 5K CXA | 1 PAIR - LED - Headlights - Bulb Type

Anyone try these yet?

Curious to see actual brightness of bulbs vs halogen. Don't think there on the level of HIDs though.

$15.43 for shipping DAMN!!!!!

But getting the right plug and play adapter is PRICELESS LOL!!!!!

I thought shipping to the VI was expensive....... Was that shipping cost for overnight?

I think that's the UPS ground quote. I looked at them and that was about the price that was for ground shipping. I just decided to buy the adapter from iJDM and will just splice/solder it onto the JW speaker light.

That was their cheapest shipping option and it came UPS Ground from Minnesota. They definitely could have used a much smaller box, or even a padded envelope, but oh well.

I'm picking up the fog lights from my local FedEx location after work today and am going to try and get them installed tonight. If not tonight then this weekend for sure.

I finally got my fogs today.....

Guess I will be building my adapters later and installing either Friday or Saturday.

.....anyone try these LEDs out yet?

Wonder how bright they actually are compared to halogens.

Re: 2011-2013 Foglight upgrade Option

Might be cheaper via HR. USPS Priority shipping for me was like $5-6 from post #165.

Re: 2011-2013 Foglight upgrade Option

I installed the JW's last night - took about 15-20 minutes per side to get the stockers out, install the JW's, and get them somewhat aimed correctly. They look great, and the light output is fantastic. Whiter, brighter, wider, clean cutoff. Definitely worth the price of admission IMO.
