I looked through my install notes for the PIAA fogs I'm running now and I concur with your notes above.

Thanks for the pics of your pigtails, that should help when I get mine. I like the idea of shortening the wires.

Looking at my pics of the OEM fog light bulb.
Looks like you got the right bulb socket.
The ones I purchased state 5202 socket, but we shall see.
If not that is easily remedied with a knife.

Got my adapters today.
FYI for anyone ordering adapters from iJDMtoy.com:
The polarity is reversed on one of the adapters.
You will need to modify at least one of them to make them work properly as noted by Jeep_addicted.

I'm guessing that maybe the car he lists them for follow the "mirror image" method of wiring which is why he builds them that way. However, Jeep has the same wiring on both sides of the vehicle so you have to modify.

I may shorten mine also, but I'm going to wait and see how much wire is on the fog lights first.

These should look real good on an Altitude or blacked out WK2.

So... just curious if anyone in the thread has gotten their foglights yet and what your initial impressions are compared to the stock foglights. Thanks!

FedEx is supposed to deliver mine today.
Then I have to modify the adapter pigtails.

I'm not sure how soon I can get them mounted...
I want to ensure I take some pics (before/after) so it will have to be later in the evening, so I probably won't work on it until Friday so that I can be up later and my butt isn't dragging for work the next day.

Note that my 'before' pics will be with the PIAA 530 LED fog lights I have installed now. My goal/plan is to mount one Speaker fog, back the GC out and align that one and take a pic to compare the two. Then mount the second Speaker fog and back out to align and take a final pic.

Re: 2011-2013 Foglight upgrade Option

Lights have been delivered.
However...
The pigtails I bought have the wrong connector.
Some of the sites say H10 is the same as H11/12/whatever.
It's not.

This is what I bought:
http://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Pigtai.../dp/B00CZDHFHQ

At least I can use the 5202 connectors to solder to the pigtails included with the fog lights.

Might be cheaper (depending on shipping) to just order the 5202 male connectors from here for anyone who hasn't ordered yet:
Headlights & Fog Lights

(2) iJDMTOY 5202 to H11 Pigtail Sockets Wires For Subaru BRZ Scion FR-S Fog Lamps Conversion Retrofit : Amazon.com : Automotive

I had a feeling that this might be the case so I was already prepared to remove the male connector off the foglights themselves and replace them with a male 9005/9006 connector so they could work with the adapters we bought.

Todd I may just do like what you did with your PIAA project and smash the bulbs and solder them onto the fog pigtails and call it a day that way I know that I have the exact ones I need work with the car's harness.

I unsoldered the 5202 connectors from the iJDM adapters and soldered them onto the H10 pigtails provided by JW Speaker with the lights. Friday night install!

Be careful smashing the bulb. Grip it with pliers and then wrap with a towel to make sure the small shards don't go flying everywhere.

I couldn't get solder to stick to the OEM bulb wires (after removing the glass and filament). I even tried some solder paste/flux. For the PIAA lights I ended up crimping the wires onto the bulb wires and then covering them with heat shrink tubing (no shorting).

What?
Why remove the front bumper?
Twist a couple fasteners underneath and one bolt (13mm I think), and you can reach up from below. 8mm (if I remember correctly) to take the old lights out and re-use the OEM screws to fasten the new ones in.

I want to wait until Friday so I can take my time and get good night time comparison pics.

..... I mean I don't have to remove it but for it is easier

1.Untwist the 5 quarter turn fasteners
2. Remove the two 10mm bolts
3. Remove the 4 rivets ( in my case I replaced with screws)
4. Gently pull the wheel arch moulding
5. Unplug both fogs

Then BAM!!!! It's off.

I don't find crouching in the wheelwell comfortable at all....

So for me yanking it and putting it on a table works better for my back.
