I believe this user is talking about the OEM replacement parts that you see on eBay. (they look exactly like oem headlights)

they are just replacement headlights.. like OEM but cheaper. I bought them because they are easier to open than OEM.

Hi to all Light Customizers in this forum. Im new here and coming from Germany. So at first a friendly hallo to all.

Im also interested in this lights, because they look much better than the originals. The problem I have is the automatic leveling function. It is not allowed to use HID lights without auto leveling in Germany. So a very important question for all GC drivers in Europe would be, if the leveling motors can be used with this lamps. Changing the HID bulbs should be no problem I think, but the lightning quality should be better or at least the same as with stock HID lamps.

It will be interesting to follow this thread, hoping for a positiv result.

Best regards BEETOLOGE

from the sounds of it, these units don't have motors in them meaning there would be no auto-leveling function. But then again, none of us have actually received a set to inspect for ourselves. I would say 95% chance no auto leveling motors in the housings.

Tuned8e,

I understand, my question was, if it would be possible to change the manual leveling unit with the motor leveling unit of the original lightning. Youre absolutely right, someone has to check this at all.

I mean hypothetically speaking, anything is possible. But now you are talking about incorporating motors into an aftermarket housing

*If* no motors are present in these, I would say that would be very hard to implement and generally not worth your time

Hi Ben,

youre absolutely right. But the attractivness of the lights misleads me sometimes, to spend some time with thinking about it.

Re: 2011-2013 guys - have you seen these on eBay?

Hello Everyone,

I have been going back and forth doing a retrofit or getting SRT8 headlights on my 2012 WK2 Altitude Edition and if these lights will work (with wiring harness and HID conversion kit) for $500 for the headlights, I am definitely in! Just like everyone else, I am curious as to how the harness would work. Especially with getting an led strip to work with factory halogens. Thanks for finding this and sharing!! This would be a HUGE upgrade for my Jeep!!

Re: 2011-2013 guys - have you seen these on eBay?

I emailed our buddy Ed who has a set of these in his possession , he wrote:

"I still have them here.

I actually ordered and sent to China a set of the Regular Compass/Cherokee headlights so they can work on a set of adapters.

They just got the lights and so give it a little time to see if they
can make adapters for these lights."

Re: 2011-2013 guys - have you seen these on eBay?

I would keep stock.. As someone who has purchased and installed multiple aftermarket headlights/taillights they just are not the same.. the plastic does not have the same UV protection (they say they have UV, but its just not the same) and will get a "haze" on them and yellow a lot faster than stock. They also leak faster due to cheaper materials.. Also I bet a few of those LEDs will go out or flicker.. but at least they will look nice for a year or so...
