Re: 2011 factory HID to 2014 factory HID coversion

So are you going to run the 2014 lights while you wait to get your 2014 front bumper? If so please post pics, and also please post where you are going to source the new bumper.
Next week I will be converting to the 2014 lights, maybe just live with the gap, otherwise will do a bumper swap too..
Good luck!

Awesome job on the headlights! Please post pics of the whole truck when you finish, I really want to see how the 14' headlights look with the 11-13' rear end.

For me, the conversion was a no-brainer. I love the 2014 front end, but hate the rear. Also, my truck is almost paid off so Im not about to trade it in. So by doing the conversion, I get to have the best (for me) of both year models.
Cool. Can't wait to see the final product.

I know there's someone in SE Michigan with a new True Blue Bumper for sale. Asking price is $450.

Re: 2011 factory HID to 2014 factory HID coversion

Sweet! Nice job. It might just be me but at a quick glance the drl LEDs almost seem to flow better paired with the 11-13. I think the hard lines of the lights match nicely with the harder lines of the11-13 bumper/ grille. It provides more of an edgy look.

What are your thoughts on the gap below the lights? Still planning to go with the 14 front clip?

Again, nice work!

Re: 2011 factory HID to 2014 factory HID conversion ***UPDATED & PICS***

Ok, so here are the pics.

- Starting with the original look. Yes, I have a broken RT H/L and dented hood/fender.

- Front end torn down

- The original 5 plugs

- 5 plugs removed (the 2014+ H/L uses 1 16-pin plug)

- The wires to be mapped

- The incompatible barrel connectors. Cut those off.

- The new barrel connectors installed

- MUCH cleaner, 1 plug. Looks OEM.

- Testing of the H/Ls before re-installing the front end. ALL SYSTEMS WORK AS DESIGNED.

- The completed look.
