I can't wait to see 'em! Curious why you have to wait a week to get an alignment, though - most full service shops can perform that as soon as the springs are installed.
very interested in this also as i have had a few lowered cars and they've all taken about a week to completely settle. i would def. recommend waiting at least a week before getting an alignment.
its at the shop now, probably won't be ready till the end of the day.. i'm also having my calipers and hubs painted.
Update: shop said it is one of the toughest spring swaps they've ever done. They haven't gotten to the painting yet so I won't pick it up until tomorrow.
From what I took from their description was that they are very long springs and it took like a 1000 lbs of force to get them off.
I wouldn't tell your shop that because they will charge you extra for sure. These guys said, "although it took us longer to do, we will still charge you what you were quoted."
They said they were very long springs and to get them off they needed to compress them to more than half that size.
Anyways, who cares, I got the Jeep back and it is awesome...Looks waaay better and handling feels much more responsive with less lag/play, makes the Jeep feel lighter. One of the best mods IMO you can do for looks and performance. I will add sway bars once Eibach releases them.
The pics don't really do it justice, but you definitely notice it in person.
I have a Laredo X, and non-leveling. I don't think these springs are compatible with non-leveling.
I forgot to take measurements before, but I will take measurements after. Someone, with my setup can measure & post. I believe the proper measurement would be from center of wheel to fender because floor to fender would vary based on rim/tire size.
Im not sure if this was covered in another thread, but is there any caution with installing the lowering springs with the Air Suspension? I have a 2012 overland.
Thats what I thought, but figured "no question is a stupid question" LOL
My thought process was if I put on the springs, then my "normal" ride height would be 1-2 inches lower. I would ideally like to have the car operational in PARK MODE- similar to the stance of the Range Rover Sport.
