Re: 2011 wk2 lowering kit

I have the tow package (5.7 Hemi 4X2) with the self-leveling rear suspension......Eibach told be that their springs are NOT compatible with that option. They said to just swap out the rear shocks and I'm good. Can anyone else comment on this?

Re: 2011 wk2 lowering kit

If they aren't compatible and you want to do it then you'll have to replace the shock. The self leveling shock is a stand alone unit, its just the shock, no other components involved. Its a Nivomat shock made by ZF Sachs. There should be no issue with replacing these as long as you realize you wont have that added lift under heavy load.

Re: 2011 wk2 lowering kit

One more question, what are my options for shocks? I can't seem to find any aftermarket performance shocks. I'd really like to get some Koni's but their web site doesn't list them.
Is my only option stock shocks?

I believe you will need to use stock shocks found on Laredo's as no aftermarket shocks are available for our cars yet.

Re: 2011 wk2 lowering kit

I'm new to Jeeps so I really don't know all the parts suppliers.....will I have to buy the "stock" shocks from the stealer or can I save a buck and order online?

Re: 2011 wk2 lowering kit

FYI, switching from self leveling to non leveling shocks......you will also need the upper shock mounts.

I still have my Eibach lowering kit in the box sitting in the garage. Didn't know they're not compatible with self leveling shocks at the time of purchase . Would it possible for you to list all part numbers requried for convert ng to non leveling? Thanks in advance.

i don't know the part numbers but if you contact www.justforjeeps.com they can hook you up with the correct shocks ($156 for the pair, if I remember correctly). I got the upper mounts from the dealer $26 ea.
