2012 headlight suggestions

Just wondering what headlight bulbs you guys have swapped out and any that you would recommend. I'm leaning toward getting the LEDs but I want to see what other people have put into their rides

Re: 2012 headlight suggestions

Silverstar ZXE H11 (a definite improvement over stock)

There have been some talk about the LED headlight bulbs but so far if have only seen posts regarding installing them in the projector foglights. In the same post they tried them out in a prius.

I have seen a few youtube video comparisons of the LED headlight bulbs on the market and they are leaning towards this style because of the dished reflectors and the cooling fan design. The reflector help with light dispersion and reduces glare and the fan is enclosed and less subject obstructions.

Re: 2012 headlight suggestions

Thanks addict. Are they easy to install? Is it just a matter of swapping out the stock bulbs for these? Also what other bulbs for the high beams would match?

JDebler would be the best person to ask. check out the last few pages to see what you think.

What's the verdict on LED headlight bulbs vs. HID?

If you do a lot of rural driving, it is hard to beat the Silverstar series. Run a tad hot, but I haven't seen anything but a HID projector throw more light out onto the !#@$!@ deer, antelope, moose, etc. just waiting for a victim.

Re: 2012 headlight suggestions

I have the bi xenon hid lights on my 2012. Is that a different bulb then the Silverstar ZXE H11 and could I use these?

I'm guessing you don't know much about headlights....
I'm not trying to 'rip' on you.

If you have HID headlights you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs for quite a few years. HIDs are one step below OEM LED headlights (like Audi, Acura, etc).

Osram Night Breaker H11 is what I'm running.
Not quite as expensive as the Silverstar bulbs.
Big difference from OEM bulbs.
Less of the 'candle in the wind' look.
Seem to be a bit brighter and definitely less yellow.

I ordered from PowerBulbs.
They are in the UK, but shipping to the US is free:
OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited H11 (Twin) | PowerBulbs

They had a sale going on when I bought mine and I picked them up for only $43.

"String" if you want to upgrade your D1S xenon bulb I would suggest the OSRAM Cool Blue Intense (CBI) bulb that seem to be the top of the range rigth now.

Lets put it this way some headlights get washed out by the sun if anything is 50ft or closer I can actually see my headlight pattern on it even in the day.
