2012 JGC overland summit running boards?

Anyone installed running boards on a summit? Just picked up a 2012 summit and it's hard for my wife to get in and out. Don't want to keep pressing the lowering button if she has to jump out for a min and come back in. I can't find any I like the ionic boards. Is there a mod to make them fit? Thanks!

For MY11-MY13 JGC, you should have a number of choices that will work with your Summit since there were no body differences for Summit in those model years. MY14+, not so much...

But when I check the website it says it does not fit the summit edition.

Re: 2012 JGC overland summit running boards?

Be sure you are specifying MY12. MY14+ Summit has different front and rear facia and trim around the wheels which precludes "regular" running boards...that may be what the preclusion is referring to. Worst case, call them. I cannot think of any reason that anything fitting a MY12 Laredo, Limited or "regular" Overland not fitting the Overland Summit since the body differences are not there.

Here is my 2014 Summit with Ionic running boards installed. Not best pic but should give you an idea

Not sure why the pic comes out upside down. If it fit this Summit should fit yours. Let me know if you need more info. I installed this same running board on my 2014 Limited I had. Got em from Ebay from the same buyer both times.

Edit to add that my buddy has a 2013 Overland with the exact same boards I put on my 14 Summit and fit both.

The Summit was just a bit harder to put on due to my sausage fingers not having as much room to maneuver due to the added trim piece. I did find an easier way to install the main brackets though.

Preassemble the bracket with the main bolt, add the washer and barely screw the nut to the bolt. You can then slide the bracket into place.

ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1421683509.123420.jpg just installed the ionic running boards on my 2012 summit. Which states on their website it won't fit.
