Re: 2012 SRT Bixenon on a 2012 Altitude

Well fellas - today was fun. A nice fun day of wet sanding and polishing.

My buddy and I ended up wet sanding down from 320 up through 5000. Yes, 5000. Apparently they make that. We then used a porter cable to polish them, then I hand applied a sealer coat that came with a Meguiars headlight kit.

Are all the scratches out? No - but they look a zillion times better. The scratches that remain almost look like stress fractures, it's very odd... I was GOING TO TOWN on these with 320 and there was not much more we were going to get out of them.

I think the only person that will ever notices the remaining scratches are there is going to be me. (unless one of you find my car parked somewhere)

For your viewing pleasure:

(oh , and thank you guys very much for all the advice. It's great to have such a supportive group!)

Those look fantastic. You can't even see the scratches in the pics you posted. I'm sure once they're on your rig the small imperfections you noticed will be much less obvious to even you. Good luck and post pics once they are installed!

thanks man! I agree

I got my care package from Jeep_addicted today , man - this is a great quality product complete with morimoto resistors (I believe thats what in line)

Unfortunately for you guys I'm not going to install the lights until next week. My jeep is going to the dealership Wednesday to get the panoramic sunroof mechanism replaced under warranty and this fun vanity mirror recall taken care of.

Re: 2012 SRT Bixenon on a 2012 Altitude

alright guys sorry for the delay

Most of you probably lost interest in this thread

My Jeep was at the dealer getting the sunroof fixed then I was out of town - but I finally got around to installing the lights. What a great wire harness - plug and play. You cannot mix up the driver's side with the passenger side as they use different plugs.

I didn't grab pictures really of the step by step but I have these from a sketchy quarter wash this evening.

I literally can't get good pictures of these lights when they are on as they are so bright!

I really liked seeing the process from finish to end and happy that it all came together for you. They look ace.

Thanks man! I am too. Still not completely perfect lenses on the headlights but it's not the end of the world.

Now I have to get matching temperature fog lights
