Maybe that system isnít working correctly. The light may be off but the fresh air intake vents are closed.

You can actually hear the vent motors shifting when you hit the button if youíre parked and itís quite inside the vehicle.
But like I said outta left field.
mine just sits on auto 71 degrees year round I don't ever really touch the controls unless I need to defrost the rear window in the winter. but yeah I hear what you are saying something not working as normal in the system. come to think of it there was a new HVAC flash that was done in October 2015 wonder if that had anything to do with it still would not explain where the moisture was coming from.

The exhaust path takes even longer to heat up and stop steaming--actually on really cold days in CO, it is still steaming/dripping after a 25 mile highway commute.

[Knock wood] Dont have any trouble with inside of the windshield steaming over though, even when the humidity is in the high 90s and temperature at or below freezing. Unless the folks are smelling coolant or similar, or maybe sweat socks, not a clue whether this is moisture buildup, leak, or A/C moisture buildup. I almost always use auto setting on heat and change cabin filter [FRAM carbon] every 10K miles to avoid the sweatsocks syndrome.

?? Does the moisture build up fast, before the heating system starts blasting air, or after?
My oil temperature comes up pretty fast to around the 193F - 208F range. This in Winter or Summer. The hottest I've ever seen the oil get so far was 224F. This was in June, and the outside air temp was about 117F. Trans oil temp comes up a little slower. Usually it's around 120F - 140F by that time. This with the outside air temp around 37F, like it was this morning. Now it's around 55F out there.

From what you're telling me, I would assume it's all normal as far as the exhaust taking so long to dry out. Especially if yours is still steaming after 25 miles. Just seemed a bit odd to me. But who knows how the exhaust system is set up on these cars?

On mine the window fogging came after the car was blasting hot air out of the ducts. Maybe about 4 miles. Perhaps a bit more. Then it went away.

I never tried this, but what would happen if you had the drivers side set at max "HI", and the passenger side at max "LO"? Under certain conditions could you have both the heater and the A/C running simultaneously? I would imagine it's set up so that couldn't happen. These things are designed to be pretty well, "woman proof".

lol you probably could. I really have no complaints with this HVAC it works great just set it on 71 and never give it another though year round. however that is after the hvac flash fix, the first year of ownership the hvac was a disaster especially in the winter time. I felt like a cooked piece of salmon it was always so hot no matter how you set it. one of the joys of being an early beta tester for their underdeveloped software.

Re: 2014 condensation moisture build up inside my GC

I just noticed my rear window fogging up on me too. I wonder if it's the gasket for the hatch (as mentioned above - TSB).

Condensation is water condensing out of warm air hitting something cold. The cold is obviously the windshield. The $64,000 question is, where is the moisture coming from?? There sure as hell isn't much of it in the Arizona desert. I can tell you that with a fair amount of certainty.
