Re: 2014 GC lights in 2011?

Has anyone figured out the answer yet? I too have a 2012 overland with hids and want the 2014, either srt or regular, headlights. Not buying anything until I figure it out though

Re: 2014 GC lights in 2011?

Pbalias has figured out how to wire them and another guy has done it on his own, but no one makes a quick plug and play swap out. I would love if they did. I'm feeling too lazy to cut all my wires and re-connect anything. I don't have the time at the moment.

Smile Re: 2014 GC lights in 2011?

Hey guys, So after reading through the posts and doing some research of my own this is what i have found and am going to try. i own a 2011 overland.

1)A pair of the 2014 headlights off eBay... $700

2)Wiring harness stage 2........................$300 from http://www.projectoretrofits.com/app...s/show/4831432

3)2 sets of 7.5" Length, 800 lumen LED (DRL) by Lumen to fill the 3/4 gap under the headlight. the headlights are about 15 inches across so 2 7.5inch led side by side should fill the gap perfectly, and they are .78inches so they should fit snug! Lumen® - LED Daytime Running Lights ......................................$140

So for around $1,200 i should be able to upgrade to the 2014 hid lights and fix the gap problem with some more lights! Any thoughts before i pull the trigger and order everything?

Yep - you're not going to find a "plug-and-play" harness for the 2011 HID to 2014+ HID because of the leveling motor connectors, as described in this thread. They seem to be the only connectors we can't find.

Because of that, I chopped off all my 2011 connectors, and soldered in the 16-pin connector which now just plugs right into the 2014+ HID lamps.

What if we're not concerned with autoleveling motors??

Surely someone has to be able to produce a harness. More of these LED housings are hitting ebay and people are willing to spend up to 500 bucks for some freakin wire to hook them up.

If the leveling motors are not hooked up it will throw a fault code.... the code will not cause a CEL but it will show up when the vehicle is scanned.

Like PBALIAS said if the connectors can't be found you won't be able to have a plug and play harness.

It may be an option to to have a pigtail connector and you tap each of the connections. But having to tap individual wires it would be a technical swap.

Re: 2014 GC lights in 2011?

I see posts have kind of died down on this thread - I was just curious if anyone knows if JEEP ADDICTED is still supplying harnesses to those who contact him through personal messages??

I'm still looking and contacting anyone who may have a lead, I could even supply my vehicle as a mule if a company/person needed a test bed.
