Re: 2014 GC lights in 2011?

I'm guessing by the other posts you weren't able to attempt controlling the lights due to the harness. Can you confirm this?

Not for each light.... it would be for the set the pair to control the headlights and the harness that would cut off the drl anytime you actuvate the turnsignal.

The DRL would be one once the engine is running. Normal OEM function is that they go off when the vehicle is shifted in to park. Since the E shifter is not mechanical I can not offer a switch like I used on my "almost OEM DRL" installation thread. Other than that I don't think most people that want to upgrade that minor detail.

Re: 2014 GC lights in 2011?

I made a post in the main forum too. A lot of people forget about the sub-forums. I had permission to duplicate the thread.

Thanks guys!

Cool, I'll be anxiously waiting the final product

Re: 2014 GC lights in 2011?

Will the 2014 front clip bolt directly onto a 2012 with no modification? my apologies if this has already been answered. Thanks

I would think so. Only thing that COULD be different is where the bolt on locations for the GRILL are located. As the 11-13 grill is wider than the 14 grill they may have changed the attachment points on the frame. However, if these points have NOT changed then the 14 front clip will go right on.

I'd be very surprised if they changed anything on the frame.

I would be also, that would be only thing I could see them changing.

Other thing is, I think Jeeps will look odd if they have a 14's front with a 11-13 back. I know some people may disagree but as much as I like the headlights, I think it would look strange and I wouldn't change the whole front clip.

It's just too much cost that will just be lost at time of trade. Now if someone were going to keep the Jeep 10 years and want to do this then I'd consider it.

Re: 2014 GC lights in 2011?

Would the 14 front clip only work on the 11-13s with the new headlights or can it work with our old ones? I prefer the new front clip and if i could pick up the grill and bumper pieces cheap and not need to drop serious $$ for the lights, that's something i would be interested in doing

No, if the new headlights don't fit in the old front clip, the old headlights won't fit in the new front clip.

I remember seeing in some spy shots for the 14's they had the 14' clip and 11-13 headlights.. I don't know if revisions were made to the grille after that.

If you open the pic in paint or photoshop and zoom in you can the 14's fascia and 11-13's headlamps.

Re: 2014 GC lights in 2011?

My money's in if it can be done, I believe the other than the size their are connection problems and that's why a harness is being developed. If it gets finalized i will do this mod, either just headlights if there's a spacer engineered or if a '14 clip overhaul will be needed.
