Does anyone think those new 2014 jeep led headlights would fit in a 2011 Overland? I really love them and I think they would look great in the 2011. I saw the spy pics a while back with the white jeep where they put the 2011-13 Laredo headlights in? I sure hope I can!!
Probably would need a new font bumper and grille along with the headlights.
It'd be much more cost effective to send a set of your headlights out to someone to have them modified with LED rings. Lots of places out there will customize headlights with HID projectors, LEDs, etc.
I think they would fit. If you look on Jeep's website for 2014 GCs, the Laredo and Limited show the old headlights on them. The Overland and Summits have the upgraded (LED) headlights pictured in the above post.
I would love to be able to retrofit both the headlight & tail light fixtures on my 2011 overland. Judging from low res cell shots and blog images it's looking like this could actually be a possibility...
If the dimensions of the lights, brackets and harnesses are the same it should be pretty simple...but things aren't usually that easy. I assume that filler piece is attached to the headlight so it could be a direct fit. We won't know until someone can compare a 11-13 Wk2 to the 2014. I'd be interested in the headlights if this is the case.
Yes I agree! It looks like the dimensions are right? But I doubt the taillights would fit because you would need a new tailgate which is possibly with a lot of $$$$$ but hey! Who knows?!
It looks like they will fit if you get the new grille too... The 2011 doesn't have that piece right under the light that is attached to the 2014 grille.
^^ I very much doubt that you would need a new grill. The 2014 Laredo and Limited have the old headlights from the looks of it on Jeep's website. Perhaps, that small black piece is available separately along w/ the new headlights. Guess we can make a better decision once we see the 2014's in the dealership lots... or get access to part numbers.

They won't fit without replacing the whole front clip. The top and side are the same where they interface with the hood and fender, which are unchanged, but the shape of how they integrate with the bumper cover and the grill is completely different.
Look at the bottom of the lamp, see how on the 2014 it is about the same position as the seam between the fender and the bumper cover? In the 11-13 picture see how the lamp extends down past that seam? That seam is in the same place since the fender is unchanged.
Nor will the grille work without the bumper cover.
The Limited and Laredo have the new shape lights, they are just not LED.
I think they will fit... after going back and forth looking at the wayyyy early shots (I guess pilot builds) they should physically fit. It doesn't look like the dimensions of the 14' headlamp has changed or the attachment points. You can see in these pics where they are using the 11-13 standard headlight, but under the wrap you can definitely tell they have the refreshed fascia on this GC. The slots on the grille are shorter but the where the indention detail meets the headlight is the same cut off point before the new grille starts. I may have to find a cheap used one on Ebay and try this. I don't mind taking the bumper off to see if this will work... I think all it is now is a waiting game on the harness.
They will not fit without the whole front clip. The 2014's lights are narrower, they will fit on the top but not into the 2011-2013 bumper.
2011-2013:
2014:
You can see that not only is the headlight slightly narrower all the way on the fender side as compared to the seam between the fender and bumper (which is unchanged), the 2014 light does not get as wide as you move along towards the grill as the 2014 light. Like I said, they will go in the housing, but the grill and bumper from the 2011 won't fit back on without a gap.
If you really want to do it the whole clip will bolt on, but you need the whole clip.
I see now.... the 11-13 has a curve as it meets the front fender as the 14 is just straight on.. of course the headlight could look smaller because the 14' headlamp has a chrome edging around it and makes the appearance of the 14' headlamp look smaller, just a guess.
The relation of the headlamp to that seam between the fender and bumper cover doesn't lie, they're not going to fit.
Think about it logically too, they've reworked the whole clip, headlights, grille, bumper cover are all new. Why would they even worry about making the new headlamps interface with the old bumper and grille? What would be the point?
The attachment points are all the same I'm sure, the attachment points don't have to change because the shape and dimensions of the headlights change slightly. Its like the SRT grill on the 11-13. It looks like it should fit...but it doesn't.
In the camo shots you can't see how the lamps integrate with the new grille, whether the grille has been trimmed to accommodate them or not...because its covered by the camo.
Give it a shot, but I think its going to be cost for nothing...
Hey man I appreciate your input. A member here has a 14' headlamp and is sending it to me for a test fit.. I don't mind pulling the front end off my Jeep, as I have done it a couple times before!
