2014 GC Limited Halogen to HID question

Hi guys,
I'm new here. Just picked up my 2014 GC limited this past Friday. I'm looking to swap out my halogen headlight bulbs for HIDs. Do I need anything else besides a regular HID kit inorder for this to work (ie. cancellers, etc)? I already had HID kits on order for my headlights and fogs, but I wonder if I'll get some type of error code. Thanks inadvance for the info!

Did you not want the lux 2 package jeepny that's why you didn't order it or buy one with it?? The lux2 would've given you the LEDs in the headlight trim and HID bulbs.

It's not that I didn't want it. I didn't want to spend the extra $4k for the lights.

Re: 2014 GC Limited Halogen to HID question

Welcome Myjeepney! Many of us have installed HIDs in our '14s; do a search and read through the pertinent threads, such as this one: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

You will need cancellers, AKA canbus fixes, for the low beam HIDs but not for the fog lights. Many of us installed the XtremeDigital HID kit from xenondepot.com; they've got good prices and great customer service. It's a lot easier to do the job if you take off the front bumper - lots of tips on that in the pertinent threads as well.

According to XD, you do need the canbus fix for the foglights also.

You're correct WATacoRider - my bad. Coupon code "MOPARHID" should still work when ordering from xenondepot.com; that will get you a pair of free canbus fix with an HID kit.

Congrats on the new Jeep! As mentioned you will need to install the HID kit with a relay harness and cbfix in order for it to work properly. Just use coupon code "MOPARHID" to get everything you need for the installation.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
