Re: 2014 grand cherokee body molding

Stevm65, Thank you for this great idea and for pointing me to the right product for this. I think it looks very nice and barely noticeable, sure is going to save some dings from developing.

What color Jeep is that? Can't tell if it's Black or Steel. Looks good either way!

Re: 2014 grand cherokee body molding

My wifes car did not come with BS molding. So I found a local auto detailer who custom measured the car and ordered custom fit molding from this company, factory painted to the OEM color. They offer different widths in OEM painted, with or without a "chrome" insert; or all black or chrome. I went with 1" wide OEM painted no insert for my wifes car. When the molding arrived in about 2 weeks, the detailer installed it. Looks like factory, exact paint match and still on solid after 5 years. Their web-site has many makes and models in stock, but the GC is not listed. I assume that is because the 2011-13 had factory molding. So if you want OEM painted molding, call them and find a local company in your area that can do the same for you. If you are in the Minneapolis area, I can recommend the company that did mine. It was around $200 installed for a 4-door car.

Re: 2014 grand cherokee body molding

The JGC is now listed and it is the 2014, seems a bit low on the vehicle. The place where on the GC Stevm65 added the molding is perfect for 3 different vehicle doors I tested with. Though Sportwing moldings look nice but not the chrome ones

Re: 2014 grand cherokee body molding

I hope you have good luck with your body molding mod! I recently received my first door ding (thank you very much for leaving a note...not) on the upper crease, just below the passenger mirror. Took it down to bare metal. Cheapest estimate for repair was just shy of 600 bucks.

Re: 2014 grand cherokee body molding

Great idea, and from the pictures you've shared it looks pretty damn good. Door dings suck, and I'm like most on here who go to great lengths to minimize the odds when I park. Nice mod!
