Re: 2014 grand cherokee body molding

I am also concerned about door dings so I did the door test with two vehicles. Unfortunately the door of my mini van will hit the top part of the door crease in the 2014 Grand Cherokee before hitting the door molding. Unless it sicks out more then 1/2 inch from the body. Also tried it with a car and it will work for that. But if it's a pick up truck of another SUV it may not help if they swing the door into your door. I am going to order it anyway at least it will protect it from certain vehicles.

Here are some pics of mine on Maximum Steel:

Re: 2014 grand cherokee body molding

Recently purchased a 2014 GC Limited and am very concerned about door dings. Since Jeep currently doesn't make a body molding I found an after market molding that I think is totally functional and looks pretty good. (Took a few photos) I tested it with a car and mini van and both of the doors hit the molding first. However the molding did not protect it from the rear car door. The door hit the body above the molding first. Might not protect your doors from every vehicle but it does make me rest a little easier knowing I have some protection. If anyone is interested this is the site I purchased them from. I ordered them pre-painted to match my Jeep. https://sportwing.com/HM-CHEROKEE-14...y-Side-Molding

Looks nice, good idea. Anyone know if mopar rock slider rails stick out far enough to offer and door ding protection? I know they are much lower but thought they might offer some protection.

Those are really nice. They must be a new edition to the line of products. They only had the low moldings when I got my jeep last summer. If the ones that I made up ever fall off, I'm going to go with these.

Just wanted to let everyone know the moldings pictured on the website look different from the ones I received. The moldings pictured on the site, DO NOT have the rounded edges, and DO NOT have the rear door indentations. They also don't look as thick. Was going to call them about the moldings photo not being the actual moldings that they sent me. I think the ones they sent me look better so I didn't bother.
