Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Maybe a silly question, but anybody regretting doing this mod from a looks standpoint? Specifically referring to the chrome mesh on a Black 2014 (like mine, hence the question) or darker color 2014 Limited. I saw the pics of the one person who did it on their black limited and the pics look really nice but sometimes a real life view differs. Just curious if anybody thinks it turned out a little too "blinged out" or not liking the appearance of the upgrade and would have rather gone with the black mesh.

I actually do like the full chrome grille in the old style but doing this makes the 2014 grille looks like the polar opposite of the 2011-2013s which is cool. Just a thought as to whether the chrome mesh inserts make a Limited look just a tad too flashy for anyone.

My dealer got my black one in today, I installed it right after. What a pain in the a$$. Looks much better though! Car is very dirty from the rain, I'll post new pictures once its clean. Also got my tail lights back from the painter, and love the look.

For those complaining about Jeep labor rates... you should always have a good Indy (emphasis on good) on hand for non-warranty/maintenance type work anyway. Pulling a bumper off and doing this should be something they can do in their sleep and without the dealer expense...

Where did you get your tails tinted? Is it permanent or could it be removed (I am leasing the vehicle) Looks great!

bigpappy33 - what did they do to the chrome trim around the brake lights? Wrap, paint?

It's permanent. The chrome was painted to match the car color.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Went to my dealer to get my new grill installed. They tried but gave up after about 15 minutes. They suggested I cut the old grill out, making it easier to get the old one out and the new one in.

Should I do this? It makes sense to me.

Any dealer with body shop should have been able to pull the front bumper cover/facia/grille and install the new grille in about 1 hr. The DIY people have been installing using the through the top short cut method. It takes some persistence and inventiveness to release the tabs but can be done in about 40min.

That's what I did. Was about to give up myself and decided to cut the center grill out to allow easier access. Took around an hour but I was able to complete the install through a combination of the top down method along with the center grill insert cut out.

Why did it take you so long using the cut method?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

I'm not sure why it took me an hour, but once I cut the existing grill I knew there was no turning back
