I believe they look similar to the NY plates from the late 60's to early 80's.....I have to find a pic. They are ugly and stick out like a sore thumb. I did not mount the front plate on my SRT8 Challenger.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Got a quote this morning for the dealer install of the chrome inserts - $85 labor (one hour), $25 part - $110. That's a no brainer for me...it's crazy to see what some of you guys are getting charged for this.

They said the inserts are backordered from Chrysler but they were going to get them from another dealer who had them in stock. The service department was actually griping a little bit that Jeep came out with the 2014s but any 2014 specific parts are relatively hard to get at this point in time. Granted, this is one of those special "high-demand" kind of parts but apparently the issue is pretty consistent across the board.

Yes my dealer quoted me $240 ($120 per hour, and takes 2 hours of service) plus $85 for the part shipped to them. I got the parts shipped to me for $65 (including shipping) got me $4 xacto knife, cut the old one an installed new. I will no comment on dealers for if I did I would most likely be banned from the forum so... Yeah.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

I installed mine yesterday. What a pain in the ass. Got some cuts and bruises on my arms and hands, but I think the grill looks good.

How long did it take you? I'm tempted to do this but don't want to pull the whole bumper? Is cutting out the old grill the recommended method? Yours looks great. Is your overland max steel color?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

It took about 45 minutes. I didn't take the bumper off. Popped the two push rivet things on the top of the grill under the hood. That lets you pull the top of the grill up and forward a bit (towards you) so you can get your hands in there (it's tight though).

The hardest part is getting the damn grill pieces off. You have to push the little tabs with a screw driver or pliers while pushing the grill forward from the outside in. Finally got them all out. The install is the easy part, 2 minutes to snap them all on and another minute to put the push pin rivets back in the top.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Mine is on order, $35 shipped from moparpartsonline, although it is probably backordered from them as well. Has anybody tried to get at it from underneath? If I put the car on OR2 and pull the belly pan thing, I'm wondering if that would give easier access than from the top.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

I would say it would be next to impossible to try from underneath.

I ordered my chrome grille insert on Monday...dealer called yesterday to say it was in. I picked it up today and installed it at my office.

Like others have said, the hardest part is getting the old grille off. Once that's done, it's literally five minutes to put the new one on!

I love how my Laredo E looks now.

Note: I installed the lower fascia chrome insert a few weeks back. Now the look is complete.

Don't mean to get off topic but i have been trying to find the lower fascia chrome insert for my Laredo E. Would you mind telling me where you got it and the part number if possible?
