Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Props out all who were able to do this mod from the top! I tried for hours and couldn't get it done! If the vehicle didn't have plastic rivets, then it would have taken the bumper off. Oh well I guess the dealer will install when they put the trailer hitch on!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

G'day all,

Have just finished the blingerisation of the Laredo CRD.

With the chrome Summit mesh grille inserts, the blackout of the grille surround ala SRT and the fitting of the lower chrome grille surround I now have a cheap LTD.
(Along with the sunroof, leather seats and Q/L already fitted)

Sets the Laredo apart from the others. MY14's are selling like hotcakes Downunder.

So have a gander at the finished product.

Hi Maxsteele2014 (and anyone else in Australia) who has installed the Summit Grill in the Grand Cherokee. Just received mine from the States at around $28 plus postage. Had a look from the top down and it seems very tight. Took the Jeep to a couple of panel shops and they want $150 to $200 to install taking the front off. Anyone done this in Aus. that I can correspond with.

G'day Sandjones m8,

Just look back and see the thread. All info on there.
Had mine (Summit chrome grille inserts) installed by the dealer............FREE. (Frankston Jeep)
But then he might have felt obligated after my 10 months wait after their and Jeep Aust stuffups. (Laredo crd)
I also had the lower chrome grille insert installed ($150 including chrome grille) and the blackout (SRT Style).

As mentioned on this thread should only take an hour and about $120 for the dealer to do it.

Let me know how you go.
Bluey

Lightenup, mjcedeno, thats why the USA is in so much trouble.

Aussies like to take the mickey out of people and then move on with no repurcussions.

Us Downunders have a different sense of humour to you northerners.

Maybe because we are walking around upside down all day and the blood rushes to the head!!

And 2 hours labour m8, you were ripped orfff.

My Aussie dealer did in 45 minutes. And for free!!!

Come on Downunder sometimes and get that blood rush to the head.

Your friend and mine

Bluey

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Thanks Bluey. Just been to the dealer up here and they quoted $150 to $200 which I don't think is too bad given what I have read about the top down approach. I'll keep u posted. Steve.

The grill is available in black or chrome honeycombs!

Black from Overland
Chrome from Summit

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

And I'm looking for black mirror caps, tow hooks, door handles, grill and bezels to get rid of the chrome.... To each their own.
I guess this comes from my old days of trail running built Wranglers - It sticks in my head, "Chrome won't get ya home." Not that this $50k vehicle will ever see much more than a dirt road, but I just don't care for the chrome look.

I must say this was extremely difficult to do from the top but it is possible. Took a lot of force to push out the grill. It took me almost 2hrs including 30 min of trying to retrieve a tool that I dropped inside. I am very happy with the results!
