Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

lol 76...Yes I tried to go just from top down to begin with and just could not get my arms in w/o killing them so I ended up cutting the old out and it was much easier to get in there and release the tabs. Good Luck.

And done! I used some snips to cut the old inserts out. Good thing they are made from a soft plastic. If you wanted to keep the old ones then yeah, dropping the bumper may be the best solution.

You still have to take care when removing the tabs but this made it so much easier.

Saved some money as well.

Edit: forgive the dirty Jeep. Damn Chicago weather hasn't let up and hard to keep her clean!

Nice work. I may just have to cut the old one out too if it made it that much easier.

Did you guys who did cut it just do the middle section or cut all of them out?

I tried for 1 minute not to cut and said F that lol. Then I cut the middle only thinking of saving the outer two...for another 2 minutes and said f that also. Lol. I ended up just cutting them all. I saw no point in trying to save them.

Not a fan of the louvered inserts. If I ever did change it would be to the black honey comb. But highly doubt it. Plus the Chrome ones were 22 bucks so if I have to cut those also later on not a big deal haha

I think I'll be doing the same. Thanks for your help.

Now I just need some clippers that will actually get through the plastic.

The plastic is real soft. Here is a in progress pic. Left side old inserts right side new. Middle cut out.

Good news: I finally got the new grill on.

Bad news: I got my ass beat getting the old grill out and new one in.

Photos to follow tomorrow. Again, thanks for all the help, everyone!

LOL, yes, I also left that battle with some bruises and scratches but felt much better once I stepped back and looked at that new grill.

Great job man!!!! How did you finally get that first tab to pop?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Thanks 76. I know what you mean about getting it clean. Unfortunately they are calling for snow here this evening so it may not look like that long....We've had our share this year and I know you guys up North have been pounded. Hopefully Spring is just around the corner.

Do they use a lot of salt on the roads up there? Here they throw out that salt brine as well as salt and I know its terrible for our cars.
