Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Finally got a chance to take a couple decent photos of the grill.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Just installed the chrome grill. I started with the top down method and could not get any of the clips to release. So I decided to remove the bumper which is very easy and gives you complete access to the old grill. It took me about an hour total so not so bad. I will need to replace the clips that I had to cut (4 in total).
I'll post some pics in the AM.
Somehow I am missing the spacer for the headlight washer. Any idea where to get those?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

I watched this video and overall it was helpful. The only strange thing is that the 4 connectors underneath are not "quarter-turn" rivets. They are pop rivets similar to what you find up on top (there are two on top). But the technique for removing the bumper is sound.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

I installed the chrome grill on my limited today. It took 30 minutes from start to finish. I did the top method and cut out the old black grill.

You must be a magician or something.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Today I installed the chrome honeycomb grill on my '14' Laredo. Did the top down method, took a little over an hour. The first few latches took a while until I got hang of which way to flip the clips. After the original grills came out, the replacement install took a couple minutes.

Tips:

1. My tool of choice was a short/snub wide flat blade screwdriver.
2. As mentioned in previous posts, your arm will get scratched/bruised (nothing major). I used an old sock pulled up over my arm to help lessen the damage.
3. Once you get one of the grills removed (there are 3 in total), you can work through openings in front.
4. Patience.

** If you have forearms like Popeye, I'll say this method of install is not for you. Thankfully I do not.

I'll post some photos as soon as I figure out how to do it.

Don

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

Nice Don!!!! Yep, after you get the first couple to pop you figure it out. I also ended up using that short screwdriver.

Same Here. Was putting this off and dove in last night and it took about 1.5 hours. Patience is key, and you can get a little rough with the removal some are harder than others to pop out. I did not have to cut the old grill either. The two on the bottom (leftmost and rightmost) are the hardest, and honestly a little tough love on those since it is nearly impossible to get a screw driver in there is all it took. Use the new grill inserts as a guide as to where to stick the screwdriver to pry off the old tabs. This is very important, once you figure that out (and which way to pry be it left or right) they will start releasing. Might be easier to remove the bumper entirely, but I didn't have to and my arms are not small and I did this by myself. It is always better that way, except for the times you have to drive into the dealer with your head down and car half in pieces. I am posting some before and after pics below. I used one short and one long flat head screw driver. I love the look, not too much chrome for me. This is on a 14 Overland Max Steel. I would also highly recommend mud flaps and weathertech floor liners.
