I too remember my factory harnesses (inside the headlight housing) on each side had a clip on the connector that had to line up with the connector on the XD wiring in order to mate the two - but I still had to reverse the wiring on both of my canbus units in order to get the lights to work properly. Are you sure you properly grounded the connector attached to each ballast?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Well, I've been fooling with just the one light so far, but yeah ground is good. Also tried without canbus fix at all, hoping to at least get the flickering. Nothing. And of course without the relay harness there is no extra ground (as the extra ground is for the relay itself), it's through the factory wiring. I haven't tried reversing the plug, but I checked continuity on the factory plug outside the housing vs the connector inside the housing and verified hot and ground. I guess I can try reversing despite what the meter is telling me........

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Okay, got it working. Turns out it WAS the polarity, which is weird because checking continuity on the ingoing and outgoing plugs said otherwise..... Anyhoo, got it going without the relay, haven't tried with the relay yet. Took it back to stock for now, since I'm down one canbus fixer. Also, do the fogs need the canbus fixer too? Because I got the two with the XD kit, but ordered the volt kit for the fogs, and it didn't come with the canbus fixer in the kit. Ordered at same time and used the coupon code. Assumed I'd get a canbus fixer for each of the four lights.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

I dont think you need the CANBUS for the fog lights as there is no DRL or anything. I had an issue with the wire harness not wanting to ground but everything is working just fine now.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Thanks for all the input guys. It's much appreciated. I've installed these on my last 4 cars, this is the first time I've had such a time getting these things going. Next problem is where the heck to mount these things! Space is at a premium under there. Sheesh

Everybody is afraid of taking off the bumper but it's really easy. Takes less than 5 min. and allows tons of access for hiding wires and ballasts.

Yeah, I had it all torn down.lol Still not a lot of room for 4 ballasts and tidying up all the wires and plugs. And tearing it down was nothing. It was a pain to get snapped back in place though, especially at the fenders for some reason.

I was having trouble with the fenders too, 'til I realized the cover was hanging up on the lower inside corners (closest to the grille) of the headlight lenses. Once I guided those past the lens, everything else including the fenders just fit right back in.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Does anyone know if the light direction is adjustable? My passenger side headlight is straight but the drivers side is at 11 O'clock.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Was it straight before you installed the HIDs? Could you have not installed the HID bulb properly on that side, causing it to be tilted a little?

Yes, the light output was straight on before the HID install. I suppose I can always take the bulb out and wiggle it or something but it may be the bulb itself. I'll check it out.

Update, I called KB and explained the issue, they are sending me a replacement bulb, free of charge. Now that is customer service! I would highly recommend these guys.
