Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Installation pics attached.

I took some left/right hand side pics so you can see where I stashed the wires and ballasts.

Also pre-post cutoff pics. Unfortunately the "post" full install pic has a ton of glare on the lights and you can't fully appreciate the color change.

All in all great experience so far! Light output is considerably better.

(PS - unfortunately I don't have pics when I encountered the shadowing before filing and inverting the bulbs).

Awesome! Glad to hear that you're happy with the XenonDepot HID kit If you take any pictures of the final output - please share

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Honestly, I am really getting tired of the crap relays they supply with the Xenon depo kits, yet again, after replacing mine once already; my driver side headlight remains to stay on. I ditched the ones for the fogs cause i was sick of dealing with them and just put in hella optilux bulbs. but i cant stand that my headlights are still jacked up. I'm on the verge of ordering some hella relays, atleast i know they are of quality. Sucks that i spent this much on a set of HIDs and the relays are junk, even with their "new" design..

how long have you had your kit? Where did you mount the relay? I haven't had any issues since my install.

Yeah I am using a canbus fix. And the relays are mounted behind the grille on the bumper.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

04blackz - I also find it very odd… I think it would be best to have you send the lights in for inspection at this point - I will provide you with a return label. Please send me a Pm with your order information so that I can get this taken care of.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with halogen bulbs. Has anyone put HID's on this truck in the halogen housing? If so results and how

You can but for the sake of other drivers please do not. You will be blinding every oncoming car you see because your halogen housings are designed for halogen light output. The light produced by HID'S is thrown everywhere. If you had a 2014 you would be fine because all of those come with projector housings but the 2013's came with reflectors.

I have the xenon depot 35w in my halogen assembly and they are fine. The jeep housing actually does a good job to contain the light. I never get people flashing headlights at me like I have my brights on. Stay away from the 55w those will be too powerful and will surely light scatter.

No clue, the correct way would be to get the factory housings from a limited or higher trim and swap them out.
