Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

I have a 2014 GC Limited with regular bulbs and would love to go OEM HID.

Is there a specific set of HIDs I need to purchase? I see a pair of Summit's on ebay but I'm not sure if they would fit.

Also I would need a wiring harness.
I've tried to contact these guys:
http://www.projectoretrofits.com/app...s/show/4123758
But haven't gotten a response as to when they will be available. Does anyone know anywhere else these could be purchased?

Also would that be all I would need for this conversion. I appreciate any help you could provide.
Thanks.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Hi,

I'm really not sure what is involved in switching over your headlight assemblies to OEM HID headlights. I can assist you with upgrading your headlights to HID with a 2014 Grand Cherokee HID kit.

Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Hello everyone. This is my first post, but I've been lurking every since I decided to purchase a 2015 Grand Cherokee Altitude that I picked up last Saturday. I installed the XenonDepot 6500k kit with the relay and canbus fix today. I verified the polarity on the factory head lamp connectors were correct prior to installing everything. I really wonder if this is a problem with the actual headlight wiring or the way the HID kit is wired. I really can't see Chrysler producing cars with the same hardware, but different polarities on the headlight wiring. Doesn't make sense. I did not remove the front bumper, I just moved the ECM on the right side and removed the airbox on the left side to gain access to the area. Plenty of room to 'hide' all the related hardware. I also just used the 'jumper' locations on the right side for power and ground. Had to extend the left side wires to make it over there. Still a PITA to get the bulbs installed. Lights work fine, but I am getting a triangle shaped 'shadow' coming from the right side light. Starts at the light and angles down and to the right. I assume this is the problem with the bulb not being indexed correctly. I'm not terribly concerned at this point.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Best thing to do if you can is to swap the bulbs left to right as the bulbs will only plug in one way. Let me know what you find, as if you need a new bulb I will send it out ASAP.

Hi Steve I just bought the hid kit from you guys couple a weeks ago I had that install yesterday but nothing seems to work properly my friend ! First of all when I called you guys on of you said that by buying a canbus fix my new kit will work as drl!! But it seems like not and one of your guys in the phone yesterday told me the same thing cause they use a separate bulb for that ! Second thing the ballast is buzzing and makes a lot of noise as soon you turn on the light switch!!! When you turn on the light sometimes the right Side will not turn or if it will after played around the switch the right will turn on but the left is off this thing is driving me knots man . Hope you guys from xenon depot can get to me as soon as possible cause my guy that installed this he said nothing was quite right what was happening to the kit .He did follow all the instructions with polarity ecc ecc.
If you need my order number it's 47755.

I just finished my install this morning and there was no need to modify the H11 bulb whatsoever as described above.... The bulb lines right up with stock tabs and will only go in one way.

There have been people that have had shadows in their grand cherokee lights after changing to hid's. Ours did but it isn't noticeable enough to mess with.
