Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

hello,

just bought your kit and went to install it. long story short we change the polarity on the passenger side and driver side bulbs (phillips kit) the drivers side is good. but the passenger side doesnt work. the ballast doesnt sound like its buzzing like the other one. maybe a power issue. we checked with polarity on both ways. what could be the issue. it had started up for a few minutes then died and wont go back..

im assuming maybe a bad cbfix?

Sorry to hear your having issues, have you tried to do any troubleshooting by switching parts from the working to none working side?

Feel free to give us a call for additional support.

Danny,

I did troubleshoot, and was able to get the passenger side running with the CANBUS from the working driver's side, if the wires are connected "backwards" (ground on factory wire to red wire on CANBUS and vice versa). This leads me to believe that although the wires were matched up to the factory harness properly in regards to color (as per the included instructions, positive to positive, negative to negative), the polarity was wrong and may have blown the passenger side CANBUS.

Right now when attempting to use the CANBUS in question, no power appears to be going to the Ballast, leading me to believe that the CANBUS was blown and therefore the Ballast isnt energizing because the circuit cannot be completed. I checked the fuse, ground, and positive connections, all seem to be in good order.

Thoughts?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

hey danny

I want to buy the HID kit for my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee altitude, but when i was on the website there wasnt an option for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee only for a regular Cherokee. Would the 2014 jeep Cherokee kit work on my 2015?

thanks

Hi,

Yes - the bulbs are the same between the 2014 and 2015 models.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Hi Steve,

Just a quick question. Purchased on 3/24/15 and still in processing status(Order# 7820). Just wanted to know how much longer before shipment?

Cheers!
Norm
