The wire lengths were adequate. However, I did have to change out the positive terminal connectors to larger ones. Both positive posts (fuse box and jump start locations) were too large for the supplied connector. I did have to change polarity on both sides.

I ran into one issue. One side didn't come on. I used ballast from the good side. Light came on. So I guess the other ballast was bad right? However, the "bad ballast" fired up the other side. So both lights are now working.

Should I be concerned that one ballast works on one side, but not the other? I feel like it should. Is it a bad ballast?

Thank you very much. Otherwise, I am very happy with it.
Hi,

I've come across situations where for some reason the polarity wasn't the same on both headlight harnesses on the vehicle side. Did you chance polarity on both sides, or just one? I'm thinking that polarity is the issue here.

Steve

I changed polarity on both sides. One ballast works on both sides. The other ballast works only on one side.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

I would suggest changing the polarity on the side that is currently not functioning.

That has been done already. When I first hooked it up, it did not fire up. I then changed polarity, still did not fire up. Tried different ballast, then it fired up.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Hey guys this is my first post. I just spent 2 days reading over every page of this discussion. I think I've come to the conclusion that I would like to purchase the Xtreme HID kit from xenondepot (5000k) and the non HID color matching lights for the fogs (5000k). But I think I may want to pass on installing this myself. Is there anyone in the north New Jersey area that can install this for me for a fee? I live next to Garden State Plaza Mall. I would like the person to take into account everything that I read on this forum in order to get it right the first time which included replacement rivets, polarity reversal if necessary, and mount in a secure location. If someone here can help that would be great. And if Danny or Steve could recommend someone that would be even better! I have a new 15 JGC Altitude. Thanks!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Hi,

Unfortunately I can't make a recommendation for an installer, but I'm quite positive that someone on this board can make a suggestion for you. Have you considered contacting your dealer and asking them if they are familiar with any reputable mechanic/audio/electronic store in the area?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Thanks for the reply. I kind of don't trust the dealer and really want someone who knows the Jeep well, on this forum, do the install. I want to make sure the relay harness and canbus are installed properly and the bulb doesn't have any shadowing everything is wired and grounded properly etc. I would hate to have to go back and forth between a shop for little individual problems, ya know? Could you just send me the link to the xtreme hid kit and the matching fogs in 5000k? Also I read if i use the code "moparHID" i'll get 2x free canbus and $25 off? If I use a different code would I have to purchase the Canbus from your site myself (add it to my cart)?

On a scale of 1-10 this install is a 2-3 tops. It's not hard. If myself is a non mechanically inclined can do it so can you.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

In case I don't go with the HID kit for the low beams, can you suggest a headlight bulb upgrade that will give me the color I'm looking for (5000k xtreme hid kit) without the increased light output? I've tried to find pictures of upgraded bulbs but haven't had much success finding pictures on non hid pictures.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

THIS is the only halogen bulb I would go with (currently):

H11 Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited bulb.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

I see these are rated at 3600k. But you're saying this gives off a white light with a blue tinge similar to 5000k xtreme hid kit?
