Both DDM and Diode Dynamics make a canbus anti-flicker that do work with 2015 and up models. DDM is a complete kit, I ordered one for my fogs but have not received it yet (ships from China). The Diode Dynamics is made in the USA. You can use that with any HID H11 Kit. Save yourself the trouble of pulling the bumper off to install XD's kit. The other kits are plug and play and you can install from the top without removing the bumper.

Guess what when a couple of weeks/months down the road the XD kit stops working you are out of luck, and all you will receive from them is "I'm sorry the kit didn't work out for you", as in my case.

My setup is a Morimoto Elite HID Kit bulbs and ballasts (from theretrofitsource.com) with the Diode Dynamics canbus.

Our HID kits do work on the 2015 Grand Cherokee as we've had many customers including Jeep Garage members successfully install them. Just like previous model years, you need to install a relay harness and CANbus fix with the HID kit for them to work.

Our HID kits are plug and play as well. Some customers simply choose to remove the bumper for a cleaner install. As you mentioned you can also install them from the top by removing a few parts from the engine bay to get to the headlights.

We provide great support for our products and do our best to help our customers out when we can to resolve any issues they may have. This is why we have a lot of great feedback on this forum and many others like it. I'm not familiar with your order, so I can't comment on that but I would be happy to help if you have any questions or concerns.

Danny

Danny,
I am not knocking the quality of your products as I think they are great and I personally think you guys have good customer service, but your kit doesn't work in all 2015 Grand Cherokees. It didn't work in mine as the lights would blink periodically (like every 30 seconds) and then shut off completely until I restarted the car. I swapped stuff around and double checked connections and got the same result. Instead of returning, I installed the kit in my murano and it works flawlessly leading me to the conclusion the kit just isn't compatible with my vehicle.

I have read about the issues you guys have had getting the "no relay harness required" kit figured out for the Cherokee and it seems there are compatibility issues with some (but not all) 2015 Cherokees as well. Jeep must have made mid year changes on vehicles that impact compatibility with your can-bus fix.

This being said, I had no issues with the diode dynamics kit working. I would certainly try your product again but I just don't think it is accurate to say your kit works on all 2015 Grand Cherokees. Just my $.02.

Steve,

Then why did I just receive an email from your customer support (john) saying the reason one of my fog lights was working intermittently was because I wasn't using the relay harness?

Both headlights and fog lights are hooked up with canbus adapters without the relay harness. Only one foglight has an issue (driver side). It will only turn on 60% of the time. When it does turn on it slowly blinks for 5 seconds then stays on.

We do recommend the relay harness for the headlights but they are optional for the fogs. Have you tried to swap the Canbus fix on the fogs to see if the issue follows it?

Danny,

Dumb question....but where does the Canbus fix plug in? Between the igniter and bulb or between the factory harness and XD kit? Thanks in advance.

The Canbus goes between the relay harness and the connection to the factory harness.

Xenondepot, How hot do your canbus relays run?

I have them installed in very close proximity to some factory wiring and I'm not sure if I should be concerned.

Hi,

They do not get hot at all.

Hi Danny,

New to the forum; quick question for you:

Just ordered a kit for my wife's 2015 Grand Cherokee Altitude. Here's what I ordered:
  • XT-H11 H11 HID Kit | Xtreme HID
  • [HID Color & Bulb Options:Philips Bulb 4300K]
  • [Vehicle Options:With CANbus]

I see above you mention requiring a relay harness. Is this something that is included in the kit, or is there something else I need to order? Thanks in advance!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Hi,

Does your vehicle have DRL enabled? If so, you will need everything you ordered.

However, if you disable the DRL then you would just need this component:

HID Kit JEEP PWM HID kit Module | JEEP HID Kit Flicker Fix

Steve

**EDIT - only if the DRL is on the headlight bulb

Thanks for the reply! Doesn't look like DRLs are enabled. Will I be okay installing the kit as I have ordered it? Just thinking she may or may not want to enable them someday....
