2014 HID bulb out?

Hey guys

Sorry to make a new thread, I know there are tons about these headlights already.

So I think I was the first guy or close to it to put the lights in a 11-13 using jeep_addicted's harness. Everything has been working great for 8+ months now, until tonight.

My drivers side headlight went out, led drl and turn signal work fine. So far I have removed the air intake and checked the harness on that side and it seems fine. I know from searching that guys have had bulbs go and also ballasts. So it's possible its the bulb

Right now my plan is to begin the pull the front bumper and grill tomorrow, remove the lights, swap the bulbs. Something I have never done before. If it turns out the bulb is done, will try to source locally. If I swap bulbs and the drivers side still does not work, I will unfortunately swap back my halogen lights.

Like I said above I have never removed or handled a hid bulb before. Naturally I will wear gloves, and from the videos I have found, looks like there are two tabs on either side of the bulb? Not sure how they are unplugged, but should be straight forward?

Anyone have any advice or other recommendation before i start tomorrow?

Good luck Wicked! Lots of videos available so should not be too difficult!

Thanks, that was easy. But unfortunately swapped bulbs and the drivers side is still out. So have eliminated the bulb as the problem. I rechecked all the connections, just occurred to me I did not recheck the harness ground.

But, before coming in again I thought I would try the highbeams, and the drivers side flashed sporatically... And while turning the headlights on and off they drivers side flash a couple of times...

Is this the sign of a bad ballast??

I'm would say it's the ballast. Try swapping the ballast and that would confirm it

Thanks for your reply, hope you are right.

I assume the two sides are interchangeable? If so, are there three ballasts?

Edit: another video confirm the lights flash when put in high beam mode:

Swapped both silver ballasts tonight, no change, drivers side does not work, passenger side continued working. Swapped one, then checked, then the other, then checked. The black ballast on the back of the light has markings referring to left and right so I did not try swapping it.

Anyone have any other ideas, I have now swapped the bulb and two ballasts, and drivers side continues to not work...

Try switching the entire working headlight to the side of the harness that's not working. If the working headlight doesn't light up, then it's your harness.
