Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee "Assassin"

A few people have inquired about the vinyl wrapped chrome trim in the front facia -- how we'll it covers, and durability (bugs, rocks, the elements, etc.). The wrap is pretty clean -- there are two small seams in the upper left of each of the plastic chrome molding slats, but as you can see from the pic, the over-all look, IMO, out-weighs the small imperfect detail.

As far as durability, with the snow we've been getting in MA, so far no issues. The installer just advised not to rub the vinyl wrapped areas. So DIY pressure wash car washes it is! [/ATTACH]

As a segue between the exterior into the interior mods, under the hood we have the cold air intake (CAI) installed. Specifically, the CAI is the K & N 77-1560 for 2011-2014 JGCs with V6-3.6L engines.

The K & N Engineering Group dynoed the performance @ a 10.75hp gain to the wheels @ 5447rpm, but I haven't taken her up that high yet!

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee "Assassin"

Over the past few weeks the mpg (the display I always use) average is up a touch over a mile (1.3) but I believe this is a result of the free-flow exhaust in tandem with the CAI.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee "Assassin"

Can you believe all this plastic fits under the hood with the engine? Waste of space . . . Lol! Doesn't have to be a metal K & N, but I don't see why anyone wouldn't install a CAI system (unless not street legal; e.g. CA), improved HP and MPGs and IMO, both better sound and look!

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee "Assassin"

Are there any real mpg gains from that k&n intake?

I don't think any real mpg gains. I don't think air filters increase mpgs in modern vehicles anyway. Certain claims can be made for dirty air filters affecting mpgs, but this is a heated topic for discussion.

My plan was to combine a high-flow CAI with a free-flow, duel exaust for increased performance. Logic being; flow improvement in must be matched with flow improvement out, and vice versa, otherwise one would cancel out the other.

Sick jeep, looks mean... Did you do the wrapping yourself or did you have it done some where here in mass?
