+Rep. Thank you for the find. Just e-mailed him asking about pricing.

Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

Can someone photo shop the new headlights onto a 2011-2013 so we can see what they will look like?

Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

Why dont you just get HIDs instead? They look great in the projector housing. I have 5K in my headlights and LED 5K in my fogs.

Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

Installing these 2014 led hid headlights on my 2014 grand cherokee "laredo", aren't the harness the same? They should plug in without a problem. I could see a converter is needed if it was a 2013 or below.

Can anyone confirm this?

What about the LEDs telling them to go on and then dim when the headlights go on?

Also to turn the LED off when the turn signal goes on?

Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

The connectors appear to be quite different- the halogen housings with a 4 pin connector and the Xenon housings with (I think) a 16 pin connector. Some of those pins pertain to the auto leveling and beam direction motors.

Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

What if they are the non adaptive led headlights? Would the harness be similar to the ones installed on the 2014 standard projector headlights? That would be great if I can swap my projectors for those 2014 hid/ led headlights without the harness issue.

Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

I did get a response from Joe Wassman of w w w.projectoretrofit.com

I was inquiring about the DRL controller he responded that he is having something made up and when they are ready for sale he wil contact me.

I have sent him back another email asking how he plans to terminate the proprietary connectors for the Park/turnsignal and the side marker from the Grand Cherokee with halogens? I am waiting on that response.

Like I have said before it is not impossible to make a harness the challenge is in making a harness that is plug and play.

A couple months back when the 2014 showed up we had to wait for the wiring diagrams to get posted. After they were posted it looked discouraging because of how different all the connections were.

I have a theory on how to address this but it is all contingent and verifying if I can find a male 4 pin connector that matches the one on the halogen headlight for low beam.

The second area of concern was finding a way to control the DRLs shutting off with the turnsignal. I have found a way to address that as well for the past four months I have been working on combing some components that when working together would do this, I am happy to say that since late July I have come up with What I called "ALMOST OEM DRLs.
  • Parklights ON = DRL OFF
  • Left signal On = Left DRL OFF
  • RIght signal ON = Right DRL OFF
  • Hazards On = BOTH DRL OFF
  • Engine running and lights off = DRLs on
