Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

The blue light shouldn't be there, the DRLs should be all white. However, if your DRLs have the blue light in the same places and match, maybe you keep them for the effect, especially if they're barely noticeable, I wanted perfection so I had to replace mine. I anticipate Jeep coming up with a fix or a recall in a few years, I'm seeing the blue light in the DRLs more often on Summits and SRTs here in MD.

The flickering is due to the HID conversion and the harness not made for LED lights. This is resolved by using anti-flicker capacitors, Jeep_Addicted should be able to sell you some Morimoto Anti-Flicker capacitors, they worked great for me after my headlamps flickered after the initial install. Other anti-flicker capacitors may work, but the ones I purchased from Amazon didn't work.

Here are pics of my current install and what they should look like...

that was using his harness at the time. But if its just a very common issue with the blue then i'll just have to deal with it.

It's very common and ebay is flooded with headlamps with the blue in the DRL.
My lights flickered initially with his harness as well, he sent me different Morimoto anti-flicker capacitors to replace the original capacitors on the harness that were labeled Diode-Dynamics. That resolved all issues with the flickering.

Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

Take a look at the video:

Based on their advertisement I bought 6 sets at $30 a set, and only two of the 6 worked like they advertised. And the ones that worked only worked for 60 days at best.

So I had to go back to my tried and true Moritomoto CANBUS standalone. On the 2014 I just plug them in between the Low beam plug and the ballast.

On the 2015 I have to use the Morimoto canbus stand alone and a proprietary built relay harness that I build into my 2015 retro harnesses.

When Trevin recieved his harness I used the Diode Dynamics antiflicker modules but later had to send him a set of the old faithful Morimotos.

I hope that helps anyone that had questions about issues he described above.

Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

Thanks Correy! Replacing the Diode Dynamics modules did the trick for me and my retrofit has worked perfectly ever since using the harness you provided, my apologies if I didn't make this clear.

Jeep_Addicted, is it still possible to get one of these harnesses from you for a 2014 limited? Thanks

Re: 2014 Jeep OEM Projected headlight to OEM HID headlight

Lots of helpful info on this whole post. It's nice to see that this conversion is getting more and more available. I am looking to do this conversion myself and am just reading up on what I would need.

He said he has never seen anything like it. He deals with jeeps and shitty harness and parts and also gives errors, this harness was smooth and acts completely OEM. I attached a quick video hard with the brightness but does everything it needs to.
1. DRLs on when car goes on
2. DRLs shut off when blinker goes on
3. DRLs DIM when headlight go on.

Also attached to pictures of under the hood. Everything secured nicely and installed in a good spot.

If I can help in anyway just let me know.
Where at in NJ? I recently found a set of OEM LED/HID & reached out to jeep_addicted. I'm waiting on a reply I also contacted the shop AutoFX and tried to see if they had any info. They said they did a few, but don't know how to make their own harness. I have a electrical guy I'be always worked with and am trying to get him as much info on this as I can to smooth out my install on my 14 limited ..

If your in jersey it's worth the ride to Carlos in Linden (NVC 908-527-6772), tell him you know Andrew with the Jeep Harness he will know exactly how to configure it and install. But this guy won't create the harness he only installs it. As for making your own it's all about Corey(jeep_addicted) for that type of information.

Hope this helps.
