I am at the dealer this morning and just checked with parts on the cost of the HID headlight assembly and they are $1120.00 each!! Looks like buying used is going to be the way to go.
I have two brand new HID headlights AND harness for sale. I purchased the harness from the forum member who developed it. I have recently traded in my Jeep GC and never installed the lights or the harness. I will sell the entire kit only. PM if interested.
Oh that's interesting. I wonder 2 things:! 1 are the LEDs bright or dull? 2 does it plug and play and doesn't need a special harness for these headlights. Please let me know.
In need of guidance/help, i just purchased SRT8 headlights for my non-HID grand cherokee. Ive read that there are harness's for them but cant track one done. Ive seen this kit http://www.projectoretrofits.com/apps/webstore/products/show/4831427 Ive emailed the company multiple times and got nothing back in response, ive seen people waiting months for their harness.
is there a better solution?????? please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a brand new HID/LED set, they have just been sitting there because some shops cant figure out the wiring, and the harness from Jeep_Addicted takes about a month to make and another 2 weeks to ship...so I will most likely get rid of them. Sucks cuz i really wanted to do that mod.
The only person i know that can make a harness is Jeep_Addicted. Look Him up. However, the waiting list is MASSIVE. I would know since I am on that list.
Another alternative is to go to a shop and have them install them to the best of their ability. It will most likely not work like OEM and it will be a costly install.
Awesome. Sounds like a plan. I gave the shop a call today but no response. Aside from the lights, i want to do a couple other things so i want to see if he can hook it up with a deal.
I would recommend you contact Jeep_addicted for a harness instead. I bought a harness from projectoretrofits and had to wait months to get the harness even though the website said that it was in stock. The worse thing was that when I finally got the harness it didn't even work. I took it to a place to get it install and they could not get the blinkers or the LED to work. My friend who has experience with electrical and stereo stuff couldn't get it to work either. I contacted projectoretrofits and he provided no help, didn't even answer emails. I was ready to give up on the install until I contacted Jeep_addicted, I got a harness from him that has all the functions and works the way it should. He also stands behind his product and answers questions about the install. I can't recommend Jeep_addicted enough, he really knows his stuff.
After researching and then talking the Jeep_Addicted for over a year, I couldn't be happier with my install. I bought a set of hardly used OEM headlights but like most, the harness was the problem.
Initially, my dealer told me they could install the lights, no problem. Thankfully, we have a resource on this board to help the cause. It takes a while but worth it, IMHO. Thanks again Correy for your help.
This last picture shows my LED brake and rear foglights. Also created by Jeep_Addicted.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, I waited for a harness for almost a year from Jeep_Addicted. He's great at what he does and a perfectionist. The electronics systems in these cars are very temperamental so it's taken a lot of effort on his part to make this happen. There are still issues with the 2015's, so there may not be a harness available for that year just yet.
Also, my local auto lighting shop installed everything for me. $150 well spent.
