Boom!
So how is that lift kit working out with your Quadra Lift air suspension that comes stock on the Overland? Cause I thought they are NOT compatible.

And most definitely you are the first Overland owner to murder his nice factory painted wheel fender arches.

Don't get me wrong - it looks fantastic but Overland owners wouldn't do that to their cars. I could see owners of Limited JGCs with Luxury pkg but not the ORA-2 doing that to their plastic-rimmed fenders.

Well as another Overland owner, I absolutely LOVE what digitalshaw has done!

He wanted bigger and more aggressive fenders... there is NOTHING wrong with that. And not all Overlands come with the Air Suspension system. And how about YOU not try and speak for what ALL OTHER Overland Owners about what we would or wouldn't do.

I think you've been influenced by the Dark Side.

2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Unless I am wrong, or something else changed mid year, all Overland cars come with Quadra Lift. Not all come with Quadra Drive (engine choice dependent), and not all come with the Advanced Tech Group. Also, the Off Road Packages do NOT add Quadra Lift. Hence it is standard, at least on the 2014s.

But could be wrong and lift kits and air suspension can coexist gracefully.

Hmmm...

I think you are correct. I see the Quadra-Lift Air Suspension listed as a standard feature when I build an Overland on the Jeep website.

So...

Digitalshaw, would you please clarify what setup you had/have?

Look, his car is hot. I dig it. Overland or Limited. But that car is not an Overland based on what I said above about the air suspension. Just in case I had to apologize - I went and checked the specs on the Rocky Road lift kits.

Jeep Grand Cherokee lift kit, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 - Suspension lift

I like his car a lot and I have no problems telling any Overland owner that my Limited with Luxury, ORA-2 and Advanced Tech packages is every bit as nice and good as theirs and was $2,000 cheaper. And I plasti-dipped the shit out of my car to make almost every chrome surface black (front and mirror caps). It is not as nice as his, not even by a long shot.

PLEASE NOTE: Only the non-Air suspension Jeeps may be lifted. This kit fits the coil spring model Grand Cherokees ONLY. Will not work on a Quadra-lift equipped Jeep.

Re: 2014 Overland - Meet Darth Vader

I for one think that this black jeep looks great. Overland or not.

And I do own an overland, a 2015 that will get the rocky road winch bumper in a few days and eventually bigger tires and fender flares, now if I could only find a 1"- 2" lift for my air suspension it would make the car look awesome.............

Re: 2014 Overland - Meet Darth Vader

I have a '14 Overland and I think Darth Vader looks great. It's amazing what you can do with these to suit your tastes. To each his own. For example, I have modified my Billet Silver Overland to look like an SRT. Factory SRT hood, real Spider Monkeys from a '12, Corsa SRT mufflers mated to a custom x pipe exhaust. I've plasti-dipped my grill and badges. Next is vinyl wrap for all chrome. My poor man's version of the SRT. Just as you can't lift the air suspension, I can't put stiffer springs on the Overland either. Whatever model it is, Vader looks awesome!

Re: 2014 Overland - Meet Darth Vader

So, yes you can get the Overland without the QAS. I bought a 4 x 2 so I could add the lift. I really am not doing any off roading and live in flat North Texas.

On my build. I was going to get a Limited with Luxury 2 package 4 x 2. I found the Overland with nothing added to it and it was only like $600 more. I got all the extras of the Overland.

On the fender flares, they blow the doors off the factory flares. Why wouldn't an Overland owner want to make it a beast? That's what being a Jeep owner is all about.

On the tire/wheel set up
Wheels 18x9 XD811 Rockstar ii
tires 285/65r18 Nitto G2
+30 Offset
Had to do a bit of trimming on the inside.

Murdering it out
Replaced the door handles and piece on top of the rear bumper (Step Pad Surround) with Altitudes. Colored matched and painted everything else.

In the works:
Upgrade the exhaust to give the Vader growl with new pipes too
Illuminated Door Sill Guards
Some type of running boards
Maybe smoke the lights

FYI - Anyone interested in almost new 20" Chrome Overland wheels and tires - PM Me
