Re: 2014 Rear Stop/Turn LED Bulbs

One of my resistors went out already today after only a couple weeks. I'm ordering a new one. Hopefully that was just a fluke and these things will last longer than that.

Oh well i thought that maybe the saying "you get what you paid for" might come into play here, let's hope thats not the case.

Yeah I hope so too. The other resistor on the right side seems to be working good. I think I may have loosened the wire to the resistor on the left side when installing it which is what caused it to stop working. But time will tell when I get the new resistor if they are good quality or not.

Hopefully it lasts longer, because I'm getting tired of messing with them lol.

Re: 2014 Rear Stop/Turn LED Bulbs

After PB617's post about his V3 triton, I really liked the looks of it as far as quality. Thought i know he had issues installing because of space but...

I went to the Vleds site and found this:
V3 TRITON SYSTEM GEN2 WIRE EXTENSIONS SOCKET BASE ADAPTERS

I wonder if this adpter woud allow for an extension sort of like I did giving us the ability to mount the controllers elsewhere like I did.

PB617 I looked online for installation instructions but could not find it, I also noticed that the kit as shown online has 3 wires coming from the controller, wondering what the 3rd wire is for, do you still have the kit?

Thanks to your install i got the idea to make the wiring longer on the triton system and install it on the bottom since the wire can be snaked straight through. Even with those extensions i don't know if the connectors would fit through the small opening where the tail lights are.

Basically, i'm thinking cutting between the 3156 adapter and the fuse to add a couple feet of wire and also between the bulb and the connector. Then i would only have to run the wires for bulb up to the taillight and everything else would be sitting low, where you have the resistor mounted. Including the factory 3156 wire, i would have to lengthen that also (depending how long it is, looks short). Does this make sense? I don't see this working any other way. I'm not sure what that third wire is for. It goes under the fuse and it's wrapped in it's own sleeve. I'm debating if i should even do this or just return it

Here is pic of one of the bulbs connected to the control box and the 3156 adapter:

Ok I see what you' re talking about, makes sense I was hoping thought that the extenders would allow you to accomplish the lengthening without cutting. If you decide to do it and mod please let us know for I am very interested in that model, looks of a high quality. Thanks.

Re: 2014 Rear Stop/Turn LED Bulbs

Any update on getting the Triton V3 lights to fit in the 2014 GC? I am very interested in doing this if someone figures out how. :/

Sorry for the late update on this. I was considering returning the Triton kit but i really wanted to try installing it. My 30 days to return it are up so i do plan on doing the install when the weather cools down a bit. I wanted to install them this week but it's been too hot out. I will attempt the install hopefully next week. I'll post pics and videos.

That sounds great. Did you figure out an extension to possibly use?

I'm going to get same gauge wire and extend the bulb wires only in the Triton kit. The factory connector wires will have to be extended also to reach the triton control box under the bumper.

Re: 2014 Rear Stop/Turn LED Bulbs

Just an update for anyone who is wondering...

It's been several weeks and everything is still working fine, no resistor or bulb issues.

Same here still going strong and resistor is on the bottom outside, just waiting for a rainy day which will probably not be until next year. Any further info on your set PB617?
