Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

It would be very helpful if this information was added to the first post. This thread is very hard to find information in when it is over ten pages long, especially when this is a sticky.

This 30W CREE H11 LED bulb has been a popular bulb upgrade for the fog lights.

Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

Hi,

If you have OEM HID headlights and are looking for the best color match, go with the 5000k color temperature.

I have the 5k LED Fogs and they match great with the LED DRL's.

How did you guys get the plastic covering off the lights for the cargo lamp and the underpanel courtesy lamp?

Sorry - the under panel lamp plastic covering is super easy, but what about the 2 cargo lamp coverings? Can they be pried off with a flathead screwdriver or will that break the covering?

Some people have been able to compress the lens and remove but I think most have popped the back trim which exposes the 2 lights. look on this thread on the first pages and you will see instructions.

All 4 map lights replaced in my 14 Laredo!

Hey guys, I don't know if I'm late on this, but turns out it is possible to replace those 2 yellow looking LEDs that are soldered on the board.

First, get these component LEDs
http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...-6000-mcd/315/

Superbrightleds.com seems to be cheaper than vleds, which I almost went with at first. I got the "cool white" which is the very white, with a touch of blue.

I wish I took pictures while I was doing this, but basically there is a ribbon cable that attaches to the 2 LEDs. Remove the 2 pins that are attached to the 2 small boards. You can either cut it (I promise you will have enough slack), or solder it off. This was my first time to really solder anything, and it worked out, so I am sure you guys can handle it. Connect those 2 ribbons to any 2 of the 6 metal pins on the light - just make sure they are opposite (2 middle, 2 left, or 2 right). They are polarized, so the only concern is to have a positive and negative lined up. The way I figured this out was when I plugged it up, 1 worked and 1 didn't. All I did was switch the ends on the led that didn't come on and then both worked perfectly! Trust me, you won't damage anything, but there is a little bit of luck involved (can be a pain to switch them). All in all, it works and I'm very happy with it!

How was taking the upper center console out? Or did you not even take it off?

I tried taking my off and wow! I was almost hanging on the thing like monkey when I gave up, and it still did not come off.
