Are the stock fog bulbs on the 2014 GC's 55w? I just ordered the Putco Jet Yellows. Don't want to melt anything.

Anyone know the lumen output of the factory fogs? What lumens are people putting in? I'm seeing a ton of LED's out there in the 300-500LM range, lots in the 800-900LM range, and even some in the 1200-1500LM range (WOW). Curious what folks are putting in, and how they compare to the factory candle...er, fog lights. I'm leaning towards LED fogs as opposed to HID, just for switching on/off...
The stock H11 halogens have a LM output of 1350. I have not seen any LEDs that truly beat that except cheap china junk on ebay claiming to which I really don't trust. If you see any that look reputable at 1350 or better let me know I would be interested.

We'll I went to put in my 6000k d3s bulbs and on passenger side I broke the glass on factory bulb which at the time I was ok with. Went to put in drivers side bulbs to find out the bulb was bad or I did touch it cause it doesn't work. So now I have two different bulbs in till my new replacements come in. I am just going to go back to factory. If anybody wants to know stock bulbs are 4650k OSRAM 66340HBI.

Good info! Glad I did go for 6000k as the 5000k would have been a minimal difference.

Just curious why back to factory, you don't like the 6000k look?

well I haven't gotten the chance to see the difference but I was happy with the stock ones. Either way I had to get new ones and decided to stay factory. I have 6000k's in my maxima

This sticky is ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! As far as replacing the interior incandescent bulbs with LEDs (ultra blue LED SMD 50/50s in my build) here are some pics which outline how to get things done and what it looks like. The mods I did for the "Assassin" can be duplicated the same way with your 2014 in the ultra blue that I used or any color you want. Please see this link for all of my current mods:

Here are the 194 LED SMD wedges I used (20 Ultra Blue SMD 50/50s for $9.99 free ship = THE BEST DEAL. And don't read into the "ours are better than their's BS -- all of these LEDs are made assembley line style in Asia. They are good for 40-50,000hrs (longer than you wll have your Jeep!):

Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

Okay, so you will need nine (9) 194 Wedge LEDs, (10) if you want to do the complete map light conversion. Two for the handle grip lights (1 ea.), two for the footwell lights (1 ea.), two for the rear lift gate door lights, 1 for the glove box light, and two for the clean swap-out in the front center map light console. THE MAP LIGHT CONSOLE HAS THE TWO LIGHTS WHICH HAVE A SINGLE LED SMD CHIP (EA.) SOLDERED ON TO A CIRCUIT BOARD. First off, Jeep are @$$HOLES for doing this. Second, if you have any type of DIY ability or know how to do basic soldering, or want to hire someone to do it, I will provide a detailed picture collection to explain the process. In fact, let's start out with some pics detailing this mod, because after swapping out all the incandescent light bulbs to ultra blue LEDs, having yellow lighting in the map light console was driving me CRAZY!

Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

I just took one of the 5 chip LED SMD 194s (see previous link) appart and used two of those LED SMDs to replace the single LED chip on each of the OEM map lights under each diffuser.

Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

The "ribbon tape" could not be more of a cheap piece of SH!T to deal with, but it can be soldered and I did add some wiring when I could -- even adding a SMD chip to the tiny "center light" in the map light console -- notice from the pics that it is now ultra blue!
