Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

I'm still waiting for the HID kit for the low beams, but here is a picture of the Phillips LED fogs in action. By the way Steve I decided to keep them and cut my loses with Morimoto. They were turning off on the fogs as well. The Phillips are working flawlessly. Total mismatch with the Halogens but that will be resolved soon. Light spread is really nice, they work exactly as a fog light is supposed to.

Hi all, has anyone replaced the step/courtesy lamps in the footwells, the non-dome ones? I did those, the 194s, but there is still another yellow light coming down when Im driving. Bulb? difficult? any help is greatly appreciated.

Got my bulbs installed and I can say - they are awesome! If you look at my choice of bulbs, I used one same type of bulb all around (with exception of the sun visor, of course). This bulb turned out to produce a very bright light in the overhead console; it's like a day light! You can use them for your tanning therapy! At first I thought they are too bright and I want to replace them with a lower-lumens bulbs (referring just to the overhead console), but a couple of days later I think I changed my mind and will stick with the brightness.

Everybody asks about the other two bulbs in the overhead console that are covered by something like magnification glass; these are map reading lights and apparently they are not replaceable.

Here is another good video on how to replace the bulbs in WK2:

Although the glove box light was a b*tch to get at, the rest of the interior lights went rather well.

I wanted to give some tips on install since this forum also helped me with install.

1) The grab handles don't have to come off - use a small flat head to pop one side of the plastic cover off and you have access to the bulb (I first removed one handle completely, then lesson learned). Pry on the side that you turn the light on and off.

2) the kick lights / courtesy lights under the front dash are super easy. Cover just pops off by hand.

3) the map lights were a little tricky. I could only get one side of the plastic cover off. I used an angled pliers to pull the bulbs out. I did not replace the "front" lights - it doesn't bother me that much that they are different colors.

4) rear lift gate - I used a VERY small flat head (used to fix eye glasses) and popped the covers off. You do have to use some force so take your time on this. You then have access to the bulbs. I did have to pull the socket itself through the hole to have enough pressure to put the cover back on (tough to explain but you'll see what I mean once you have the cover off).
Just finished up my install using these instructions, worked like a charm. Only took me about 20 minutes to do the map lights, front floor lights, grab handles and the hatch lights. Hatch lights were the toughest, but only until I figured the housings needed to be pulled through the interior panel to get the cover back on. No need to take the hatch panel off, which saved me a lot of time and aggravation. I wasn't even going to do those lights because I didn't want to pop off a brand new panel.

Thanks for the tips!

Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

Well I just ended up changing the existing foot well night time courtesy lights as the stocks ones where so dim.

These pictures illustrate the brightness prior to me dulling them out as they where to bright at first. So I took a sharpie to the leds.

I got a set of 10 LEDs FLAT with holders for about $6 shipped from eBay.

Here is a photo my overhead led lights I did as well. What a pain

I had some help from a fellow member James.

I will be emptying the rear seats once the weather is warm.

The blue does match the pocket led lights in the door and door handle.
