700 thats worthless no sense in getting rid of a halogen if they are that low, the halogens are rated at 1300 LM. Id like to see phillips come out with that model in 4300k.

Are this ratings right? Im amazed how the yellow bulbs have that much less output vs the white/blueish ones

I really wanted to get the yellow ones but the output is on the lower side for a bulb more expensive than the 6,000k and with less output.
The lumen rating on both bulbs is the same which is 700 lumens. They provide a similar brightness to a standard 1200 lumen halogen bulb. Overall you are getting a bulb with a longer lifespan, more efficient and better color.

similar brightness? the lumen rating is almost half as much. There is a little over half the usable light of the halogen. So what you are saying is you would be doing this for color and bulb life correct, not usable light.

Do the projector H11 Fogs use a standard halogen bulb?

Yes the 2014+ fogs come stock with an H11 55 watt halogen bulb. I don't know about prior to 2014.

yes you can put any H11 in there you want just make sure you get the 55 watt ones, there are 100 watt H11 out there and those might get to hot on housing or wiring. Also some of the heavier coated H11s are not DOT compliant. I have Sylvania Silverstar Ultras in mine which give a little more brightness but not near the color of the stock HIDs. Finding a LED that matches the stock HIDs and also throws at least as much usable light as the halogens has been a challenge, I have tried several but non were good for various reasons and currently back on the silverstar ultras. There are some folks that have had good luck with the OPT7 LEDs, good usable light output and color on the 5000k is fairly close to stock HID, I have not tried them yet though.

You are comparing the lumen rating of an LED and Halogen bulb which are different lighting technology. The way Philips designed and tested these bulbs, they can provide up to 45% more light on the road than standard halogen light. Which is more than just a cosmetic bulb. If you're looking for a brighter option then we have the XenonDepot H11 LED headlight kits with a lumen rating of 2500 per bulb.

If you get a 55W H11 halogen bulb then it would be a direct replacement. You can get them in various colors like yellow or something that has more white than your factory ones.

I should ask, what are you trying to achieve with the fog lights?

I have tried many LEDs in the 700 lumens range and the usable light is just not there compaired to the halogens. The 2500 lumen leds you have would be great if you had them in 4300k. The 6000k makes the stock HID headlights look too yellow. I have tried that and i have gone back to the halogens as i am not interested in also changing the stock HIDs. Can gou encourage your vendor to come out with some 4300k options. As they are currently also doing them in 2700k they can certainly come out with a 4300k version.

I understand what you're saying and we do have the H11 CREE LED bulbs as well which are rated at 725 lumens that we advertise as cosmetic upgrades since they are not bright enough. The Philips ones are simply brighter in comparison which is why Philips advertise's them as providing 45% more light on the road than a standard halogen bulb. We'll try to have a review of the Philips 2700 LED bulbs soon so you can compare for yourself.

To be honest, we haven't had much demand for 4300K LED bulbs. Any standard white LED will be in the 6000K range which is what Philips is designing and making.

At this time your best bet is to go with a 4300K HID kit or halogen bulbs.

Danny

HID would be fine if it wasn't for that wiring mess and modules and that whole spaghetti not really looking to get into a project pulling bumpers and mounting stuff just would like some matching plug and play bulb replacements that throw usable light that is equal to or more than halogen. Just my opinion but if the headlights and fogs aren't going to match then the fogs should be yellower than the headlights not the other way around. For what is currently available probably moving the headlights to 5k and going with some quality 5k LED's for the fogs would probably be best bet. The China junk has been starting to churn out more 4300k LED options so the quality companies will get some out at some point I'm sure, just need to add a little filter glass like phillips did for the 2700k. I'll probably just sit tight for now LED technology is advancing quickly, they will get them efficient soon to get high light outputs and drop the fans.

Hello, considering the same mod on my 14 Limited (non-HID headlights), what LEDs did you go with? I don't buy the "lower output" argument, I've replaced H7s on my bike with LEDs and they are way brighter, plus I love the color temperature and look of LEDs in headlights...

Will this work ok? Amazon.com: OPT7 LED Headlight Bulbs w/ Clear Arc-Beam Kit - H11 (H8, H9) - 60w 7,000Lm 6K Cool White CREE - 2 Yr Warranty: Automotive

Any modification required on the car or will they fit under the stock caps? I'm looking for a clean plug'n'play install..

Btw any consensus for front/rear signal replacement? Again, ideally plug'n'play with no CANBUS or hyperflash issues (I'm willing to pay for something that just works)

Thanks
