Just another picture comparison of the Philips X-treme Vision LED H11s that really shows the difference in color. Picture taken with an iPhone 6, with metering point on the headlight, daylight in the afternoon. All of these external factors with affect the way the color is rendered by a camera. You can see that, even though I attempted to keep the same exposure from one side to the next, the passenger side exposure is a bit longer (hence the longer strip of DRL LEDs illuminated). Still the two are close enough for a color comparison.

By the way - these things are pretty bright. I would say a touch brighter than the halogen H11. However, it doesn't make that much difference on the road because they're small lenses that are designed to cast a wide beam close to the car. It's all for appearances.

I just swapped out my Philips extreme vision bulbs out for the opt7 LEDs

The color on the Philips is good but the light output is poor in comparison to the opt 7's

The Philips put out 2400 lumens as compared to 3500 for the opt7's

And the opt7's are much cheaper

Headlights or fog lights? Any issues with installation? Can you post any photos of the fit and/or the beam at night?

So many questions!

Thanks

Also the fan can die and then they won't work.

I have hid factory headlights ..using the opt7's on the fogs..they're super bright

There is a fan on them but I really doubt it's needed ..even if it dies I doubt it would kill the led light

Install in about 10 minutes ..super easy

I'm buying another set of opt7's for my 2015 Durango
Which has the Philips as well

It won't kill the light, but the heat from the led that isn't being removed will. Hence why these less have fans, hear strips etc. the heat kills them

Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

I wish our vehicles had the 2015 MDX LED light technology as you can see a HUGE difference in light output when passing them on the road. I hate the halogen fogs and will switch out them for either HID or LED. In the past, I have installed HID in my fogs on several cars with no problems but they were not projector lens vehicles, either. Does anyone know if LED run hotter than HID? That in itself would tell you if HID would be safe to run in the fog assembly without the possibility of melting anything. The downside of LED is the mismatch of color (5000K or 6000K depending on brand) vs. the stock HID headlight of 4300K. I am debating on upgrading the HID headlight bulb with an OSRAM CBI 5000K, but the cost is steep so I am also wondering if the MORIMOTO at $70 would still be better than the stock bulb.

Hi.

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering what LED's you used as I am trying to replicate the blue mood lighting effect. Have done all bar the two map lights and these OEM LEDs are reading about 3 volts.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

@bourmb - Personally, I run the Philips D3S X-treme Vision bulbs and love them in my 2014 factory HID headlights. We carry the D3S CBI bulbs as well, but I prefer the white color and slightly brighter output that the Philips bulb provide.
