Problem is the stock bulb is a T-15 (921) type bulb, so the 194 while it does fit the socket, is a little dull. But for $17.00 for the kit, I can't complain. I'll just pick up a pair of T-15 led bulbs from amazon for $5.00 delivered.

Bought a similar kit off eBay a few months ago and noticed the same for the under dash lights. I also was missing 2 extra Dom lights so I messaged seller and seller sent them to me at no cost so those went to the trunk lights and now are super bright. I'm happy but now the back seats dome lights could use some brighter ones.

I bought the kit that included 17 bulbs which included among others, 4 for the visor vanity mirrors and the glove box (that was a tricky bulb to replace). I didn't change the 2 license plate lights since they are already LED.

Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

I got the overhead console removed, got the circuit board out and freed the three LED's. I know that someone had mentioned the 5050 superwhite SMD LED*, for the left and right lights. Does anyone know what should be used for the center one? I'm probably just going to get three of the ones I mentioned above, but I'd really like to find a blue one for the center one.

I measured the voltage of al three LED's in the overhead console and the left and right ones were close to 3V and the center seemed to be more around 2V. This jives with the fact that the center one doesn't light up as bright as the left and right ones. Using two AA batteries, I put 3V to each of the LED's and they all powered on. None of them powered on at 1.5V.

*Link for the previously referenced Epistar LED -> https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...Specifications

An aside, SMD = Surface Mounted Device, 5050 leds refers to the fact that they are physically 5mmx5mm in size.

As others have stated, the overhead console is held in place by four clips (that you can't really see until you have it removed) and you really do just pull it down (starting with your fingers near the windshield and working your way back). Kind of scary, but I didn't break anything pulling mine out. Once you have that down, there is only one wiring harness to disconnect. After that, there are qty.12 torx #10 screws holding the back cover on. Remove those and the back cover comes off. Next, you need to get to the ribbons, so remove the main circuit board from the black plastic switch holder (for lack of knowing what to call the part that has the buttons on it). Don't pull the circuit board away too far, as it's still tethered by the three ribbons. Each LED is on it's own little board, that need to be removed. The left and right ones are removed by pushing back on one of the clear tabs from the light cover. The center board is easily removed by pressing the long black tab. I think I'm going to disconnect the wires from the back of each of the LED circuit boards and connect them to the new LED's and mount these on top of the old ones.

Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

Does anyone have experience with replacing the low beam H11 LED in non-HID 2014 limited? Is it doable without removing the front fender and popping out the headlights or is that the safer/easier thing to do? I've seen videos of people replacing the stock H11s just by touch but installing LEDs can be a PITA and I'd much rather see what I'm doing...

If you don't do it by removing the bumper or inner fenders than the other solution is to go trough the engine bay which you need to remove the airbox and a few other items to get to the headlights.

Have you looked at this install guide? It's for an HID kit but the idea would be the same.

The Philips H11 LED bulbs are more expansive because of the brand name, the design of the bulb and their brightness.

Of these two options the XenonDepot ones would be the brightest at 2500 lumens vs the Philips 1200.

Hi Danny and Steve!

Been busy installing your awesome lights!!

Working with Steve now to order H11 Fogs Phillips x-treme Ulitinon LED's along with multiple other LED's (like I haven't ordered enough already )!! LED's = crack

Steve - I noticed you have a higher output H11 LED option from XD...other than being cheaper and having higher output, what are the pros/cons between the two?

I have installed all of the bulbs pictured, most on my SRT (interior pic below), some on a friends 2014 Ford Edge Sport and a 2012 Porsche 997.2 GTS (interior pic below)

I noticed a member mention the reverse bulbs...I changed them out and WOW! I will let the pics do the talking

Phillips 921's on the inner cargo reverse, and Putco Plasma 7440's for the outer reverse. All from XenonDepot (of course...satisfied customer of 5+ years)!!!

I don't understand the statement in bold above. According to both manufacturers the specs and ratings for each bulb are the same w/ the ~5000K+ color temp. of the CBI's a little more on the whiter side than the ~4800K color temp. of the Philips X-treme's??

From personal experience, I can tell you that the CBI bulbs will be a little "bluer," which is why I personally prefer the Philips X-tremeVision bulb. I prefer a "whiter" light, and I feel that the bulb is brighter.

Ok so what your saying is that you personally perceive a 5000K+ color temp. bulb to be "bluer" than a 4800K color temp. bulb. Is that correct?
That could be stated another way...... the 4800K bulb could be described as being "yellower" than the 5000K temp. bulb. Right?

Then your saying a 4800K bulb produces a "whiter" light that a 5000K temp. bulb & that you feel that 4800K bulb is "brighter"...... Nothing is being based on science just personal perception??

This is the seller and listing.
I emailed him and asked if he would include the plastic holders with LEDs which he did.

10pcs 5mm Flat TOP Blue PRE Wired 20cm 12V LED | eBay
So what do you mean by the plastic holders? I going to be doing this.

This seems like a much easier and hassle free way to update the front footwell light then replacing the LED on the board.

I already replaced all the other interior lights expect theses front footwell lights and the front map lights. I just taped over them like some other people did. I have sausages for fingers so small item tinkering and me don't go well together.

This is an awesome thread helped me out with all my lights!

Re: 2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

I've used both on my vehicle, and found that the CBI bulbs produce a slightly bluer light then the X-treme Vision bulbs (X-treme Vision had a "warmer" tone to them, but really more of a pure white). I also found them to be a little whiter -- but I did NOT measure them with a lumens meter.

Hope this helps,

Steve
