Until tow hooks are installed, anyone have experience on where they put the front tiedowns for a kayak on the summit? Cannot seem to do it with hurting the fascia.
Yakima racks have a nice Keel Over kit that includes front and rear straps with hooks. The straps have a plastic covering that protects the lower area of jeep. I use them for my canoe and if you tie them tight they don't move at all therefore not rubbing and paint. I do have the tow hooks and just remove the hook on one of the straps and slip it over the tow hook. You can also get an add on that puts a small strap under the hood. Pull it out when needed an slip your tie down through it. When not needed it stays tucked under the hood.
