Re: 2014 Summit Modifications so far

robertjeep, the mods look really nice. I am moving toward doing something similar with my 2014 black summit. I leaning toward the plasti-dip method to flatten out the chrome areas.

My question for you is did you remove the chrome molding rings around the fog lights? Or did you just tape it out and spray?

I popped the 7 chrome grill rings easily with the right tools recommended from another threat and finished painting them, turned out really nice with the Gun Metal Gray color.

Any guidance is welcomed from all readers.

Thanks in advance.

The best way I found to do plastidip is to tape off a square around the area that you want to do. So just tape a square around the foglight. Then spray everything in the square. You will then be able to take the tape off and peel off the extra plastidip outside of the chrome. Make sure you spray enough. If you don't then it will only be a light layer and it will come off easily. Additionally, it will be harder to peel of the excess if there's only a light layer. When I first started I tried to tape the entire area off and that doesn't work as well.

That is great that you got the chrome rings off so easily. It took me forever

I'm not typically into white (I have granite crystal), but that is badass looking. Well done!
