As soon as I find out more I will let you guys know and I will post pictures before and after I get them installed.

I see a few of you guys are from Chicago or surrounding areas. I was born and raised in Evergreen Park on the south side. I came to college in Iowa City, loved it here so I stayed. My older brother retired from 34 years with Chicago Fire Department about 4 years ago.
Awesome man! Congrats to your brother for serving the city and having to deal with bull that comes with working for it.

Edit to add: He deserves his well earned retirement.

A lot of my friends are either Cops or Firefighters for Chicago.

So far so good but only had them on for a day, sort of give the rear a new look. Color is black.

I'm planning on installing mine this weekend. I am contemplating using plasti dip on the mud guards. Gun metal grey or another color that is closer to the color of my Summit. (Granite)

The stuff peels off so if it doesn't wotk wouldn't take much to remove it. I may buy a can and try a small area on one of the guards. If my Jeep was black I would probably just leave them as they come from Husky.

Re: 2014 Summit Mud Guards

I dropped mine off at the vinyl shop this evening and the owner is going to trail some different vinyl on them to see what will adhere best before he does anything permanently. I hope to hear back from him in the next few days.

Here are the guards with the gunmetal grey plasti dip I am using as a base coat. I applied 4 coats. I ordered the true metallic anthracite grey plasti dip. Once I have this I can finish it with that and the glossifier.

The plasti dip applied real easy and looks to be on there really well. I did a small amount on the inside of the guard but don't really care what happens to that side since that will be getting all the dirt and sbow and such.

Re: 2014 Summit Mud Guards

I installed mine yesterday. Install was pretty easy. I have the cherry red metallic Summit and wasn't sure the black textured finish on the mud guards would look very good. They ended up looking fine. I don't think I will try and wrap or paint them at this point. Glad I got them on before another season or snow and salt here in the lovely Midwest.

Re: 2014 Summit Mud Guards

Installed mine today. Took about 45 minutes total time. No installation issues. They fit extremely well. Husky did a very good job on the molds. Well worth the wait.

Re: 2014 Summit Mud Guards

I'm interested in these mud guards for my Summit. Question I have is this. Did you have to remove the wheels to install them? No biggie if you have to but it takes more time and effort if you do.
