2014 WK2---Need help with trailer hitch

Hello folks, I need some help in deciding which way I should acquire a trialer hitch for my 2014 grand cherokee. Mine does not come with factory hitch. What options have you guys used? I would mostly use the hitch to carry 2 bicycles. Sports Authority has a Thule rear hitch bike rack brand new for $140. They are going out of business and are marked down 40-60% off everything in stores.

Do you plan to do any trailer towing at all? If not, you won't even need the wiring harness and you won't need a heavy hitch. Are you looking for links to places that sell hitches?
Buy the bike carrier before they run out. It should work with any hitch. That will give you time to review your options for the hitch itself.

Re: 2014 WK2---Need help with trailer hitch

Then set it up for trailer towing. I think the dealer will have to flash it once the wiring harness is installed to make it operational. You will need the lower rear bumper valance with the opening for the hitch and plugs. Do you have the QL air ride system? If not you will want to consider rear load leveling shocks depending on size of load you anticipate towing. I suppose the factory add on hitch and wiring harness will be the easiest to install. Rear valance is dealer only anyway. There may be aftermarket hitches available that mount below your current set up but then you would have to decide what to do about mounting the plugs for trailer lights. They could mount directly to the aftermarket hitch. Draw back there is looks and how low the hitch will hang.

I bought a 2" hitch from Anything Auto. $112, free shipping and installed it myself. I also use it for the bike rack.

Do you have a link to that bike rack? Tried to find it online but nothing is coming up for that price. Did you see it in-store? Thanks.
