2014 WK2 on order. Accessory advice?

Been lurking for months. Currently have a 2014 WK2 Limited V8 4x4 with Lux2, tow package and 20's on order. Due to receive the vehicle late October. Billet Silver in colour. I'm going to order the Mopar slush mats and cargo liner, roof rack (for canoe), black side steps and slush guards. She is going to endure many an Atlantic Canadian winter so I also have 18" black steel rims and Blizzacks on order from Costco. Anything I should do different or does this sound like the way to go. I was considering weather tech mats as well. I also looked at the rock rails but they want 1200$ on Mopar.ca so I went with the 650$ black side steps. More for door ding protection than off roading. I take my canoe to a few remote spots but that requires traversing logging roads, nothing serious. Thanks lads, this site has been unreal!

Tony, careful what you ask for. Modding is as addictive as your other bad habit.

Wife will be keeping my modding to a minimum. That's why I'm trying to get a lot of the must haves on it when I pick it up 😄

i'd get weathertech or husky liners instead for better coverage

look over for yakima and/or thule options for racks lots of deals this time of the year

good approach on keeping 20's and 18's... what did you get for the 20's? how much more money would be to keep the oem 18's? and get 20's

btw, get a sunshade for the windshield

I ordered it with the 20's. For winter I ordered black steel 18" rims from Costco for 90$ a rim. They can take the salt and winter crap without me worrying about them.

The Mopar roof rack is about $350cdn. I think all the others are around $500. Even with Canadian and American money being about par we still get screwed on prices. The rack is going to carry a 17' Old Town canoe so I need one that has a little added width beyond the factory rails. The Mopar rack is a Thule. But if I can a better one for less I'm game.

I'm getting the dealership to put on some tow hooks as well. Good bow tie down points for the canoe.

Haha, I got every accessory you just named (except for aftermarket wheels - at least as of yet) on my 14 GC.

The Mopar mats (including cargo) are really worth it. I'm a frisbee player, so mud and grass were going to get in, but this keeps the carpet spotless - and looks really really good.

The side rails make it look more like a truck. Installation was a pain at first, but went smoothly after I realized the Mopar instructions were crap and just followed with others did on this forum.

I found the Mopar roof rails to be the best. I kayak too, but I haven't found a good way to load and unload the kayak. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

I put in tow hooks myself. It was a pain, but probably the most fun out of all the installations. There is a thread on that too. I wouldn't pay someone to do that for me personally. I enjoyed it.

Oh, and mud flaps - totally worth it. Got them after I found 2 rock chips in my door. Again, the instructions sucked. I just ended up getting 3/8" bolts and forcing them in there. That will make more sense once you actually do it.

Post pictures when you get done!

I got the 5 Spoke ones that are standard on the Overland. About a $600 option. Not sure how much a set of OEM 18's would be. Too hard to keep a vehicle clean in the winter so I went with black steel rims. Cheap and easy to find incase one gets bent.

I'm pretty sure either Thule or Yakima have a rack that flips the kayak down the side of the vehicle for you. Looks cool but I think its pricey.

My dealer wanted $1095 to give me the 20s with my ORA1 instead of the 18s. I figure by the time I bought winter wheels and tires I was into it for over 2K anyway so I took the stock 18s for this summer and winter have budgeted 2K to buy them in the spring leaving me more options. The 18s are growing on me though so I'm not sure what I'll end up doing which is why I'm glad I left myself some time.

lots of options will show up, I've recently got 18" oem taken off of a 2014 limited for $500 with caps and nuts + $50 for tpms on ebay, which was a great buy for me! keep your eyes open to ebay and craigslist! I'd also never buy anything from the dealer unless absolutely needed!

TonyMontana, did you ever buy the black side steps? I'm thinking about switching to the Mopar rock rails, and was wanting to sell mine if you are interested..

I did. I was initially considering the rock rails but couldnt swallow 1500$ for something that was going to be a cosmetic choice for me.

I had the Mopar black side rails, tow hooks and mud flaps installed before I picked the Jeep up.

Appreciate the consideration just the same.
