2015 concealed hitch for summit

What is the best alternative for a bolt on concealed hitch receiver for a 2015 Summit? I didn't need the full tow package we just use it for bikes etc..
Thanks!

Re: 2015 concealed hitch for summit

Did you by a 4x2? The hitch and full tow package is standard on the 4x4 Summit...

But specific to your question, the OEM hitch receiver is the best (and likely only) "concealed" hitch receiver if you have the 4x2 without the towing package.

Yes I have a 4x2 without the tow pkg. it looks like the summit bumper is built for the hitch regardless

Re: 2015 concealed hitch for summit

All of the JGC have the same integrated hitch capabilities. The Summit just has a different bumper cover/fascia. You just need to add the OEM hitch and the OEM electrical connector and then have the dealer flash to turn on the wiring. Do note that you do not officially have the same towing capacity, however, as you would with the factory tow option installed, um...at the factory.

Re: 2015 concealed hitch for summit

Jim do you know if the electrical connection is already at or near the bumper or does it run all the way forward on the summit? As you noted the 4x4 Summit is standard with tow so I wasn't sure where the 4x2 harness connects
Thanks!

Re: 2015 concealed hitch for summit

I've been under the impression that they put the harness in them all, but I could be wrong about that. If it's there, there will be a connector up behind the rear bumper. You can also look for the grey multi-pin brake controller connector in the vicinity of just behind the parking brake pedal. When you buy the OEM hitch and wiring provisions, I believe the latter is just a pigtail that connects to that rear termination behind the bumper from photos I've seen. You still need the dealer to "turn on the wiring" in the vehicle's computer system, however, but can self-install the rest.
