Exclamation 2015 halogen to HID's

Good Morning,
So I just got my new 2015 JGC Altitude and bought the Xenon Depot Xtreme HID's in 4300k for my headlights and the volt 3000k for the fog lights. I also but the Canbus harness for both as well. I plugged in the headlights and tested them they seemed to work with the car on. I then installed the fog lights and then everything would just blink at the same time. I attached a video so you can see what it is doing. After the blinking I turned everything off and put the stock fog lights back in and then the headlights would only blink as well. By this time it was almost kickoff so I put the stock lights and in and this is where I'm at. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Looks like something was connected wrong. Do you have the canbus fix installed between the relay and the bulb?

I didn't use the relays as it seems like most people dont use them they only use the canbus harness.

I wouldn't say most, I have seen some go that route.

Just to make sure all your components are working properly, why not try installing the kits the way they were designed to be installed? If you want to mess around with removing the relays later, no harm in trying.

You make a good point, honestly I didnt want to have to go through all the work of running/slash hiding the wires lol. I do that enough on the project car but I will try it this weekend and hope everything works out. Where did would you recommend hooking up the positive wires though ?

Re: 2015 halogen to HID's

You must do the can bus relays. Some times you have to swap the polarity. Ie swap the Pins in the connector.
Won't work any other way.

I have the canbus polarity correct but there is also a power relay kit that comes with the xtreme kit as well that I have heard of people not using.

You have 2 great spots for the positive cable. The jumper cable posts are easily removed to slide the connector on (you will have to increase the size of the hole in the connector though) and you also have a connection right inside the fuse box.

Always use the relays! Your oem harness is just used to trigger the relay!

Re: 2015 halogen to HID's

Make ABSOLUTELY sure polarity is correct. When I installed my XenonDepot kit the wiring on the kit was correct but, they were reversed in relation to the jeep factory connectors.

Re: 2015 halogen to HID's

The HID Fogs will work fine without using the relay harnesses. The bulbs only draw 35 watts and the initial surge is less than 4.5 amps...

The relay harnesses are substantial, and running any load directly from the battery will help to ensure less (potential) voltage drop, but in this case it more than doubles the work involved to perform the installation.

In my case, I bought a bunch of fender rivets/rivet tool and push pins, got a length of wiring loom to make everything look pretty, then opted to try the installation via direct plug-in once I realized I could do it just by pulling off the front air dam (7 quarter-turn fasteners).

It's working so far. If I run into issues down the road, I still have the relay harnesses...
