Its beam also appears to have a lowered cutoff on the side (i.e. when driving through a tunnel) than the passenger side fog. Is that something you have noticed or have I twisted the bulbs differently or has one of my LEDs burned out ?

I would not have noticed this but I have a front camera and I guess I paid attention to the light output through the front cam.

Thanks.

Not the best pictures but what I could manage in a hurry. A dark alley. Fog lights only.

Maybe I have misplaced expectations. But it appears to me that the driver side fog light projects closer to the vehicle whereas the passenger side projects further. I would like both to project further.
But with a balmy Christmas, seems like I will have time to tool around.

Re: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland LED conversion kit installed in Fog Lights

Questions for everyone...if I am looking to switch out my fogs only on my 2015 High Altitude I just acquired to match my headlight HIDs, is the LED bulb-only replacement sufficiently bright enough (as well as color match) or does a guy need to get the LED kit with capacitors etc. to get a brighter output? Been looking at OPT7 flux beam and Xenon Depot H11 LED kits for the latter...is one better than the other? Also, if I'm keeping the OEM HID headlights, which fog replacement color is best to match OEM headlights? Thanks in advance!

Those seem legit. Not sure about the Benz, but this color will be more blue than the OEM HIDs on a jeep, if that's something that concerns you.

The Opt7 are a bit cheaper with promo code than these as well. Good luck. Please share your results.

After 30 pages of reading they tested the opt7 beam pattern compared to these... They say that the line of Phillips diodes create a more realistic representation of a filament in a bulb instead of a single larger diode. I'm not a lighting expert but that makes sense based on the physics of light reflection /refraction. They come as 5000k and have light filters which I don't understand why people would go for color over use able output, but to each their own. Figured worst case I don't like them I'll return through Amazon prime.

All in all for 100 bucks can't hurt to be the Guinea pig.

Can you please post a link to that discussion on hidplanet? Or at least the title so I can look it up?

I picked up a set of the Phillips Ultinon LED bulbs from xenondepot, they are a compact unit with the heat sink built in and a direct plug & play with the OEM harness. Took me a total of 5 minutes a side to install and the color match is spot on with the OEM HID system. Their a bit more $ then the OPT7 kit but Phillips makes a good product and im happy with the purchase.

I'm confused, I put in the Phillips bulbs for fogs last weekend. A few months ago I went with 5k Phillips DS3 hid bulbs. The old stock bulbs were 4300k
Anyway the new fogs are noticeably whiter than the 5k bulbs. Just don't know why you think there spot on with the 4300 oem's

Hey, I see you have a front camera installed, can you post pictures of that like front pics to see where you installed, what you used to do that, etc? Or if you have a thread where you already explained all that can you give it to me?

Yes I have a thread. I was one of the first folks to do it. When I get home on a PC, I will link it here for you.
