The leds I was posting about weren't the Phillips. They were the jdmastar 8th gen.

This is the thread:
DIY 2014 Grand Cherokee Front View Camera

As you may now know, there are two options: the hardware solution via MyGig Lockpick and the Swedish Software Solution. They both need a harness, they both need a front cam, they both need to run a wire from inside of the car to the front of the vehicle. Last time I checked (and this may have changed by a new harness design) the adopters of the Swedish Software Solution also needed to find a 12 V source for the camera.

The jdmastar came in and honestly I'm impressed... Awesome construction. Can swap the heat sink for tighter installs. And the strip of Philips lumileds are supposed to simulate a filament. I'll try to throw them in and see how they go. I have eiko clearvision supreme in my ml350 headlights now illsee how these do and try in fogs in the overland if I like them.

Re: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland LED conversion kit installed in Fog Lights

Hi guys need some help...just installed my Xenon Depot LED H11 fog lights and they do not work for some reason. When I turn on the vehicle, turn on the headlights with fog lights, the headlights and DRLs work normally BUT the new LED fog lights only flicker on/off about 3-4 times with couple seconds between flickers and then stay off. I have the version WITHOUT the CANbus as their website said most new vehicles should not need the CANbus option. Tried calling Xenon Depot today (Saturday) and is closed until Monday so thought I would ask on this thread to see if I could get a fix before then. Anyone have these in their 2015 HA? Do I need the CANbus or maybe resistors for function? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As I stated earlier, the 2015+ GC have a different electrical layout than previous years and a few people have had issues, even with a CAN BUS adapter. You can try that, but I suspect it isn't going to work.

I do not have a relay, inverter, or capacitor unfortunately. I've read on this thread that the OPT7 comes with the inverter and capacitor and some people have needed to use one or both to get the fogs to light up.

Has anyone had a problem with the DRL and the OPT7's in the halogen projectors? I was thinking of turning them off just to play it safe.

Re: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland LED conversion kit installed in Fog Lights

Finally installed my OPT7 fog lights. Had to use the plarity converter and the flux capacitor to get the bulbs to stay on. Love the color and the light output. Hardest thing was getting the damn rivet off, besides that it was a very straightforward install.

Can definitely see how yellow the stock bulb is in comparison. Pic shows OPT7 installed on the left and stock on right.

My morimoto xb h11 will be in today. I'll try to install asap... The recent 25 inches of snow isn't going to help that but I'll do my best.

Re: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland LED conversion kit installed in Fog Lights

Anyone try a yellow LED fog for '14+ fogs that they can report on?

Thanks,

-john

Forgot to attach a pic of the morimoto, the black rings are seals in case it won't fit behind normal dust caps.... They included for free. Snow melted a little so ground is wet but I'll see if I can throw them in later.
