2015 Overland Turn Signal

Anyone know how to get rid of the orange plastic in the turn signal. Would like to put a colored bulb in with a clear cover.

Re: 2015 Overland Turn Signal

I don't believe that's an option. Every vehicle on the road has orange reflectors either in the head light or near it when looking at a side profile of the vehicle. Same goes with the rear but red in color.

Those are there as part of DOT safety requirements. Something about non electrical visibility or basically your car being able to be seen even if it's off. Not to mention I'm pretty sure it's sealed within the headlight. Meaning you would have to break the waterproof sealing to even get to it. Even if you did get it off your vehicle might not pass state inspection (if you have to do that).

Long story short: every car has them and they are required by law for all vehicles on the road.

Re: 2015 Overland Turn Signal

I understand all the laws and risks. I just thought I had seen them somewhere before and wondered if anyone here had them. Ive had on some of my previous vehicles clear lens with bright colored bulbs and you couldnt tell the difference. Yeah it may be a little harder to pass inspection but from a safety standpoint the colored bulb with a clear cover was the same thing as a white bulb with an orange tinted cover. At least on one of my previous vehicles.

Re: 2015 Overland Turn Signal

I thought about this last year when I first purchased my Overland.

If getting rid of the orange is that important to you, you would need to find a set of headlights from overseas on ebay. I am not sure about compatibility as I did not find it worth the cost or the hassle.

Short answer is no, there are no options to replace the amber reflector. The only way would to be buy some E-Code headlight housings, those have cleared corners and are OEM.
